So far so good. Nice big numbers that are easy to see across the room but don't glow like a neon light. I made the mistake of playing with the brightness when the clock first arrive and didn't realize that I accidentally reset it to the brightest in the middle of the day. At 6 AM it automatically changed and it went to the brightest setting. Easy to fix though so I reset it back to a much lower setting and now I'm happy. I wish you could change the time for it to change brightness but I don't see a way to change that. For the price it's a great little clock.

For $15, you can't beat this, I think. I'm using it as a nightstand, right next to my face alarm clock. The auto-dimming feature is perfect - at night (10pm - 6am) it's very dim indeed, not distracting whatsoever, but still totally easy to read if I need to. Then it's also perfect, brightening up as the day brightens. This is in stark contrast to the triangular/prism-shaped, "wood" (it's not wood but is a nice effect) clock I tried, which did not have auto-dim. But even manually dimming, even the lowest setting (besides display off, which is useless) was still waaay too bright for a dark room/sleeping. Another review said the "crescendo" alarm tone did not increase in volume - not true, it totally does! Great for your sleeping partner (assuming you are not in full zombie-mode and don't cath it quickly). Since some other reviews for cheap clocks like this report wild inaccuracy, I'll say: in 3 months it has lost like 10s (vs my phone, which of course is always correct). Not 100% ideal, but acceptable - adding a minute once a year or so seems ok (personally, I hate when clocks in my house are even 1m off). Only con is: button layout. Any button (besides snooze) cancels the alarm, yet the snooze button is smallish and is right in the middle of all the others. The snooze button should be right where it is (and maybe bigger), and the other buttons should be in a separate row. towards the back of the top, so you don't think you hit snooze and accidentally cancel the alarm. I'm a snooze hitter sometimes, so one star zapped for this.

My upgraded cable boxes do not have built-in clocks. I purchased two of these clocks to replace that function. They work fine. Small, different brightness levels and battery back-up, if needed. Setting the brightness level is a little tricky but easy enough to do. The key is you must set the brightness level during the actual time period you want the level changed. Out of the box, the clock changes brightness levels three times per day. So, if you want high or dim brightness at 10 p.m., wait for the clock to enter the time period that includes 10 p.m., then change the brightness level. Do that for all time periods in which you want the levels changed. You only need to change them once. The included directions outline the different time periods the brightness level will change.

This is going to sound dumb, but at the same time I really couldn't care less, because we are all creatures of habit. I had a DVR from my cable company that had a clock on it. Well, it crapped out, and I had to go to the company's latest and "better" option, which is this tiny box with no clock. I MISSED MY DIGITAL CLOCK IMMENSELY. I had no idea how much I relied on that one clock. So I searched on Amazon for a replacement and went with this option. The digits are far larger but not distracting. There are varying degrees of brightness of which you can choose to set it. And it's easy to set. It fills my need. I am most pleased with it.

Bad product. Loved the auto dim feature. Purchased May, 2024. The display has gone blank on June, 2025. Clock won't work. 13 months and the clock is junk. Only has a one year warranty. Imagine that.

It tells me the time. I tell it it looks beautiful. Also its been my clock for years looks amazing never used the alarm cause I use my phone I’m not some sort of neanderthal.

When I started out trying to find a small clock to replace one I have had for many years, I just wanted something small and simple, plug it in, set it, and go about your business. The one I had was for the "t.v. stand" because cable boxes no longer came with a clock and it's useful to have one there. When I came across this one, I liked it, the size and the display, but I hesitated when it kept going on about a "dimmer", and you had to "set it", and so on. I'm thinking, "I do NOT want to have to do all that, do flips and cartwheels for a simple clock for a t.v. stand. I figured I didn't have to do it with the first clock, why should I have to do it for this one? But again, I liked the size of the clock. I bought it, and I am SO GLAD I did!! I have to laugh at MYSELF for being so ridiculous because the "dimmer" is THE easiest thing to set up!!! I love my clock, and you cannot MISS the display it is VERY substantial!!! You can see that for yourself! :-) *UPDATE* Oh no. OMG, this clock has gotten on my LAST nerve! It is almost 2 months since I wrote the last review, and boy has things changed! Every time there is an outage, or even a little glitch, the "dimmer" goes haywire, and you have to "re-set" it. It is a pain! With any other clock, if you put batteries in, they take up the slack when there are outages so the time stays accurate. Not with this clock, the batteries make NO difference, and the time goes haywire too! Sometimes it will dim for no reason, and even setting the time is no piece of cake. This clock has more problems than it's worth and I am totally done with it. Had I not thrown away the packaging, I would send it back. What a disappointment. I do NOT still "love" this clock, I don't even LIKE It!!!

The clock works well and is compact in size. Numbers are large and clear and easily seen even when automatically dimmed at nigh-time. The only downside to this item was the plug-in power supplied is not the type used in Australia so an adaptor had to be purchased.
