It's a great little portable machine
It's actually a big larger than my mom thought. She loves it. It does everything a normal size machine can do. It runs great, straight stitches and holds in stitches great. Great little machine!

So nice
I have a great granddaughter who’s always asking to learn how too, cook, make cookies, embroidered, and sew. I am aways afraid she will injure herself on my embroidery sewing machine, when I saw this little one I decided maybe this is something I can show her how to sew, I seen other ones with no name I recognize, and only have one thread to sew with, this singer has a top and bobbin thread, I also bought the cord that will fit in it, batteries are ok for travel but for home I prefer the attachment cord, this little baby is sweet, I find myself using it more than I use the big heavyweight sewing machine. Great grand just got a puppy that’s keeping her busy but as soon as she gets bored and ask to to teach her to sew, I am ready but in the meantime I’m going to keep using this hand held singer machine for doll making and leaving the heavyweight sewing machine just where it’s at.

I am a middle aged man. I bought this because it was name brand and I needed something to just do hems with. I had a heck of a time getting anything working having never sewn before. So I had my mother who has sewn her entire life look at it and even she could not get it working properly. I kept breaking threads or not stitching. I was very upset bc I had paid a lot. The competition is half the price and works wonders. Buy something else. This is trash.

Easy to Use & Great Compact Size
This is a handy little machine. I used it to hem a pair of pants and repair a ripped seam. The instructions were good; it was easy to use and I like the size - it can be stored and then pulled out when needed - not like the big bulky machines I grew up with.

Needle that came installed in the machine broke within a few stitches. I loaded one of the replacement needles it came with, and even running it through the sample fabric that came with it, the replacement needle broke too. I loaded yet another of the replacement needles it came with, and that one broke within a few stitches also. None of the needles are marked with Singer’s logo - not the one that comes loaded in the Singer sewing machine nor any of the ones in the replacement set that ships with it. I have ordered Singer needles to see if that makes any difference and will adjust review accordingly. Also, the thread that ships with this set is just okay, breaks easily. UPDATE: Went from 1 Star to 3 Stars, but with reservations 1) The needles that come with this are garbage and are NOT made by Singer. Replacing the needle with a Singer needle fixed the issue of the needles that came with it continuously breaking. 2) The thread that ships with it is also low quality and can break easily. Setting the tension on the lowest possible helped but didn’t completely solve the issue. 3) In general, it seems like the tension needs to be at the minimum setting with most threads (which is the moment the tightening screw latches in). Would be nice if the unit had a small light underneath to make it easier to see where you are sewing. I would consider this okay for very light work, but it simply cannot compare to an actual sewing maching.

I love this handheld sewing machine
I travel the US in an RV and I don't have a lot of room for stuff. I found I could really use a sewing machine but I have no room for one. I went on Amazon and found this nifty handheld sewing machine. I knew Singer was a popular brand and the price was right so I bought it. I love that it came with thread and was already threaded with the bobbin. There are a few really nice YouTube videos showing you how to do everything that is available with this machine. Easier than the manual that came with this product. You can use it as a handheld or desktop sewing machine. You can thread the bobbins. I've already used it on everything I needed it for. I highly recommend.

Not happy
I had hopes. After all, its Singer. But no. It worked okay for the first hour...then the nightmare started. First, the thread tensioner is garbage. Even all the way loose, it holds the thread too tight! On top of that, the included thread is also total garbage, I have spent more time (AND THREAD!) having to rethread the machine because the thread broke (and that's without even using the useless tensioner! While stiching, the poor thing chokes and skips frequently for no reason that I can see. Also, when trying to begin stiching, the motor isn't strong enough to get things moving. I have to pull up on the presser foot for a moment to get the machine to start moving. All these issues are while using the recommended ac adapter...(I dont dare trying to use batteries after all this!) This is my second machine, because the first had to be returned because it wouldn't work at all! I am so unhappy that I wasted my money on this.

Very good and powerful, used to hem some jeans and this little beast didn’t disappoint. It has only one speed and one pattern but honestly this is all you need form simple tasks. Just practiced a little on some old t-shirts to get the knack, i had no experience with sewing machines before.

I was sent a machine that someone reuturned. It was packaged and taped up to look like garbage. I was still hopeful that it may have been squashed up in the delivery but my gut said it was a Singer that didn't work. I tried it out and it made a couple of feeble noises and completely stopped working. I couldn't turn the wheel and the power button didn't do anything. I couldn't get the piece of material out from under the foot, then couldn't make the threads extend to cut it away. Someone jambed it and sent it back and the distributor just sent it off to me. I bought a power cord for it but kept that when I returned the machine. I'm so disappointed because I think the little sewing machine may be a good one if someone didn't wreck it while trying to use it. I read all the instructions before I started and it looked like it was threaded properly. The mechanism was just damaged inside. Distributors, please send NEW items when we pay for NEW items!

Very happy with this handheld mini sewing machine. It’s more convenient compared to those bigger expensive ones. Works very well to do simple tailoring on clothes for simple fix. Only issue is there’s not many stitching options or back stitch option when closing a stitch but I just go over the line again to secure it instead or leave extra thread in the end to hand sew it close. Had a bit trouble threading but eventually got it once I watched few YouTube videos. If you’re looking for a simple/convenient cheaper option for simple mending or tailoring clothes this is the one. Unless you are looking for more complex then best to find the bigger sized machines. The sound isn’t too loud it doesn’t really bother me sounds like a how other sewing machines work. Size of this is small enough (almost size of a shoe like a men’s 9.5 to be precise) to carry around for travelling if needed and it’s lightweight comes with a bag.
