The pictured foot must be a small one--mine is much larger vs. the size of the plastic rest. The concept behind this gadget is interesting and probably true: pumping helps circulation. This pedal, however, has very little resistance (not adjustable), so you could get the same result by rocking over of some household object like a fat dowel or a rolling pin: a less costly solution. It does serve as a reminder (sitting in front of a desktop computer) to do the rocking, but again, there's probably a low cost work around like setting a timer or an alarm to job.
