Total Cholesterol Test Quick and Simple | Qucare® | 2 Tests

Wasn't expecting much but did the job. Easy to use and although not an accurate result like blood tests, it does tell you the range the result falls into. Good value for money just to do a quick check at home.

Easy to use and fast results. Bit iffy to compare to colour chart but generally ok. My only winge really is that the results are a bit broad and do not pinpoint an exact level of cholesterol eg my reading was between 3.9 and 5.2. This is really not accurate enough if you are trying to bring your cholesterol down from a certain reading in order to monitor it. Ok for a general view.

Very easy to use test. You must look at your results after specific time so have a timer ready. You will also need good lighting to check the colour of your result. I can imagine you might struggle if you don’t have the best sight or are colour blind. I have included photos of my results against each colour one shade up and one shade down to show you. In an ideal world it would be good if it could go very different colours but I understand why it is gradients of green. I am using this test as a guide until I can see my gp as I have a 6 week wait, for this I think it is helpful but never replace a much more accurate blood test with this test. I would purchase again so am happy to recommend to others.

Inaccurate. 6 tests, and the result from every one was the perfect range 3.9-5.2, but two lab blood tests gave results in excess of 7 and 8 respectively. A waste of time and money and potentially worse if incorrect results give a false sense of security. I also agree with others that the supplied lancets are very poor.

Super easy to use and quick, the colour identification was pretty straightforward. An ideal solution to get an idea of how good or bad your cholesterol is.

I bought this to see if benecol had reduced my total cholesterol level after a recent high reading from the Dr. The kit has clear instructions in a leaflet, although there are also instructions on the box, which are not as comprehensive. I followed the instructions as directed and found the test easy to do, from using the lancet to drawing blood into the capillary tube. (Note the tube is not a pipette, blood is drawn up on its own by capillary action. You only squeeze the bulb to get the blood out again.) The blood was then dripped onto the reverse of the test card and after a 2 minute wait, I was able to match the colour of the result against the markers on either side. I found it easy to match the colour and had my wife confirm my assessment as well. The test was in the smiley face range, but it is quite a broad range, so you don't know if you are close to the upper limit. This test isn't a replacement for a proper lab blood test, but as an indicator it seemed to work well for me. There are 2 test cards, so I can do another test after a few more weeks.

First impressions are quite good. You had a lot of information on how to use this test both on the box and instructionally flat. Firstly the instructionally very comprehensive well worth a good read and really explains fully how to do this test but the box has a simple quick guide but then it also has a QR code which gives you a video to watch which is absolutely brilliant very comprehensive well worth a watch. I like the dates expiry date on the box giving you a full year Use both tests doesn’t take long to do after washing your hands with warm water drying carefully. The hardest part is pricking the blood and making sure you’re getting enough blood flow for me the first time I didn’t and I had to repeat the test. Only takes a short while for the test results to come through then simply turn over the sample patch and then you can see by the colour code where you sit the light to the colour the better the cholesterol overall very pleased easy use relatively inexpensive very pleased
