Smell and taste is wonderful for baking, high quality.

I purchased this bottle specifically to make a cake requested by my (grown) daughter for her birthday, which required some extremely specific ingredients to create the flavor profile that is part of the cake's appeal. The recipe calls for quite a number of sections that are created and then assembled and requires clear vanilla (specifically THIS vanilla), as well as natural vanilla. I love that this vanilla flavoring has that classic, nostalgic vanilla taste that I grew up with my mom, who had a small home cake decorating bakery. She required pristine white icing which necessitated a clear vanilla. She used quite a bit of almond flavoring, since it was clear also. The cake my daughter requested required as little additional coloring as possible to maintain the whiteness of the cake and frosting, which was greatly helped by this clear vanilla. Not so much with the egg yolks though. A word of caution, though. I purchased this very LARGE bottle of flavoring because there wasn't much difference in the price from a MUCH smaller bottle of the same. This bottle is huge for an occasional home baker. I went back to it 2 years later to make the same cake again and the vanilla flavor was gone. Hard to describe the residual taste, which was mild. I should have kept better check on it and used it more often, but hadn't really made much where keeping the whites white was critical. So, know that this product does have a shelf life. A smaller bottle I would have used up perhaps. But this pricing made this the same or less expensive than a MUCH smaller bottle. It felt wasteful, in a way, but the bean counting side of me would definitely make this purchase again in a heartbeat.

True best thing I have ever bought! The quantity for the price is amazing. It works great with every recipe I have and bakes perfectly into anything I put in. As a small business baker I need something I can rely on and that won’t break the bank every time. I use vanilla bean paste for a few recipes but this imitation vanilla is perfect for when I need a bit more kick of flavor without using too much of the expensive stuff! Another plus is that it’s clear so it won’t color buttercream like bean paste does.

I purchased this for painting my leaving room. I wanted to paint my living room and I knew that the paint fumes will be a little to string even they I purchased the paint with oder low volume. I just add 2 tablespoons of this clear vanilla and it worked fantastic there where no strong paint smell. My paint smells like vanilla and my home smells great. I can also still use it for cooking [Pies,cakes etc.]. Its a great product, I highly recommend you purchase this wether you cooking or paint it great!
