HQRP Replacement Battery Compatible with Microsoft 1st Generation Zune MP3 Player

Zune stopped holding a charge and eventually wouldn't even turn on, not even in a dock. This took care of it. Easy replacement. Although, the little pry tools it comes with are super cheap (one of them instantly broke the moment I tried to pry). Try just sliding it along the seam first, instead of prying the tool perpendicular to the seam. Once there was a little gap it worked better turning the tool to pop the case, rather than prying.I actually got this and replaced the battery for my sister's Zune. She hasn't said anything about it since, so that means it is working and there are no issues with it.

Bought for first gen Zune 30g as replacement and fits perfectly. Slightly smaller capacity compared to original battery but same size and connected the same way. So far charges, works fine and was easy to install.

This product saved my Zune, so I can't really complain for the price. The only drawback is that the charge doesn't last very long. Installation is pretty easy. It takes a jeweler's screwdriver set to install, but it's really just a matter of plugging in the battery and putting it back together. It also comes with a nice screen protector. I really like it.

The cable is extremely short. It doesn't have the length to fit properly. Despite this I plugged in the battery without setting it in the device, plugged in the device, and the Zune screen kept flashing on and off because it wasn't getting any supporting power from the battery. Battery defective. Looked closer and the ribbon was torn. I have years of professional audio/video technician experience, and am a certified computer technician.

Easy to install

I had no problem with the the tools and screen protector that came with the battery, so that's what the second star is for. As far as the battery is concerned I'm fairly dissatisfied because it started losing its ability to hold a charge a few months after I bought it. Now 6 months later it doesn't hold a charge at all and will still be completely dead even after I've had it plugged into a charger for a couple days. It's possible that the battery that I got was bad, as I've done everything you can to keep the battery healthy. Still, if you're trying to keep your Zune alive for a few months at a time then I guess this battery will do just that for you.

This battery was purchased to replace in a 8gb Zune (not HD) but it is actually too big. It will fit in the 30,80,120 sizes, so that at least I didn't have to return it.

With out this battery my zune would no longer be usable i bought one the year they came out my only complaint is the the power cable is not quite long enough but this was easily solved buy cutting about some of the shrink wrap where the cable comes out i had no other problems installing the battery the tools for prying the case apart worked perfectly and the case snapped back to gather perfectly the battry hold its charge and has a slightly higher capacity then then one mine zune came with i bought and installed it about a year ago and no problems since i will defiantly buy another one when this battery dies
