A little darker than expected, but still pleased.
I'd been wanting to dye my hair for awhile and then I saw the commercial for this stuff and that decided it for me. I used the Dark Brown 4 Color. I had a lighter medium brown before the dyeing and my hair is now very noticeably darker(to me at least). My ends were the lightest part of my hair pre-dyeing and now they are pretty close to black, maybe just a few shades away. The rest of my hair is a little lighter, mainly because my ends were so dry so they soaked up the color the most. Another thing I've noticed is that my hair seems "slicker," I tried putting it up in a clip this morning and it kept slipping right out. I don't know if that from dyeing in general or this particular one.The process was really easy. I'd only dyed my hair once before and I had two friends helping me to get it done. I did this by myself easily. It takes a few squeezes for the the foam to come out in a regular consistency, but then it comes out fine. It took maybe 15 minutes to get my hair completely done, and I was being very thorough and I have relatively long hair. It really is a no-drip formula, however I did get some on my skin because I wasn't being careful. I just used some nail polish remover and it came off fine. Even my ears are dye-free. If you're worried about getting it on your skin while you wait, the dye is thick/strong/whatever enough that you can use it to pile your hair on top of your head and it will stay (I used a handful of foam to set it in place and it stayed in about the same position for the full 25 minutes). There is a smell that comes with it but I can't attest to how strong it is. I have a cold at the moment and can barely smell anything. I did smell the dye and it was a regular chemical smell but I don't know how strong it would have been if I could have smelled normally. Along with this there was a slight tingling/stinging when I first started putting the dye on my hair but it was very mild and didn't really bother me. My hair and my scalp are perfectly fine.Like I said, it did come out darker than expected but I think I left it on 5-10 minutes longer than expected by the time I got in the shower to rinse it off.Overall I DO recommend this product, but just be careful about the color you pick and don't leave in on any longer than necessary. ALSO if you have never dyed your hair before and are using a brown don't be panicked by the purple tint to the dye. The gloves that I used are a dark purple now, my hair is not.EDIT:I've since used it again since my original review and wanted to amend a few things.Tones&Highlights, they are more noticeable than I had originally thought. The Smell isn't really as bad as people say. It's strong at first, but after a few minutes it not noticeable. The color is fantastic, I've gotten a lot of compliments on it it.I've selected the subscribe and save option and plan to used this dye for as long as it's available.

Horrifying
The short version of how I ended up with this crap was that I bought it on accident. I didn't know I had bought the foam until it showed up at my house. Not wanting to deal with the hassle of sending it back, I decided to try it. It's Nice 'n Easy - same stuff I've been using for 25 years, what could go wrong? Before the "You did it wrong" people get a chance to shake their heads at me, let me assure you, I followed the instructions EXACTLY. Never having used it before, I read the directions mulitple times before I started to make sure I was doing it correctly. Well, I followed all of the instructions except where it says "...work the product into dry hair from root to tip using a shampoo-like motion" because, trust me, that is NOT possible with this bizzare stuff. The foam in the commercials and on the side of the box is a fluffly mousse-like white foam. What I got was toxic orange sludge. (I was using 6R Light Auburn, so that would account for the orange color.) Trying to apply it to my hair was frustrating and took at least twice as long as my beloved Nice 'n Easy 110. It was practically impossible to tell if I had applied enough of it through my roots - which is where I needed the most coverage. The foam was a messy disaster. But the mess was nothing compared to the SMELL! I think another reviewer described it as "chemical spill," and that's pretty accurate. Like I said, I've been coloring my hair for 25 years, I know haircolor stinks, but I would prefer the smell of skunk to this. I don't know if I'll ever get that stench out of my bathroom (I live in the frozen tundra, so I can't even open a window). As far as the results, the color is just okay. Usually for the first week after I color my hair, I get my amazing "Hello, Sailor!" red, then it fades to a calmer auburn. After just having finished and blow-drying, it looks like my usual color after it's faded for a couple weeks ...except for my hairline that hardly got any color at all (like I said, it's impossible to tell if I put enough on). On a scale of 1-10, I would give the color a 6. (My usual color ranks about a 14 when it's fresh.)The only Pro to this box of hellacious garbage is the conditioner. It smells lovely. Even better than the stuff they put with the regular Nice 'n Easy. Kind of a coconut smell to it.Bottom line, do NOT waste your money on this garbage ...unless you like smelling like a landfill.UPDATE: After washing my hair two days later, once the conditioner was washed out, I got to smell the lovely stench of the toxic orange sludge all over again! How did I get so lucky?

I'm a moron and even I could do this
I am dumber than a box of rocks. There, I said it. I put a TV stand together wrong once WHILE reading the instructions. Being "blonde" is an understatement. So I was really worried about buying this, especially with all of the horrible reviews. I've had my hair dyed before but I've never dyed my own hair. That made me even more worried. My sister tried this and suggested it though so I figured if she could do it, I could do it.I got the Light Blonde #9 and my hair is naturally a dirty blonde color. This was so easy, I can't even begin to tell you. I laid out towels on the counter and floor in case there was a mess. I wore an old shirt, I was so ready for this stuff to be messy. BUT IT WASN'T. Guys, you add bottle 1 to bottle 2 and shake ONLY THREE TIMES - SERIOUSLY, DO NOT SHAKE IT ANYMORE THAN THAT. Let it sit for 30 seconds, put the pump on, and that's it. You don't even have to squeeze the bottle hard to get the foam to come out. It's like squeezing ketchup from a bottle. I never had a problem with the foam coming out runny at all. It was always a light, fluffy foam that was easy to apply. It did not stain my scalp, my hairline, or my ears at all (but I also applied lotion to those areas beforehand, just in case). It smelled like beer a bit but the smell really isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Once I conditioned it and rinsed out the conditioner, the smell went away. It didn't burn my scalp at all and it didn't drip anywhere at all - not even on my shirt, nothing. The color came out exactly how it was on the box and I am very, very happy with it. It was so easy to do and I look forward to using the foam again. It is so impossible to screw this up, I have no idea how it has so many bad reviews. I definitely recommend this product, especially to first timers.
