Sharp
On an early April dim cloudy evening, this lens arrived. Unboxing I took some bird feeder shots through the window ~20 feet away at 800mm. Despite being so dark out, handheld, through a window I might have gotten away with faster exposure than I did. Afterwards set it up with a tripod and included teleconverter then took some distance shots to approximately 4 1/4 miles away and 3 miles away. I did crop/edit a few of the photos, hiding the vignette but its there. Could get the vignette due to using a full frame camera body. I like the effect it gives, easy to crop out anyways. This is all while the sun is on its way down.Focus ring is tight and smooth when turning. Manual focusing is very accurate with patience and/or a sharp eye. I would think with mirrorless cameras there should be a way for the camera to guide the user with its autofocus software.Very happy to get this and satisfy my long rang curiosity without spending ~1000 for the rf800. It only gets more expensive from there.

Little nice telescope
Surprisingly good for the money. Isn't intended for photo but rather for observation . I took him for looking at the moon and the sun (with filter ofc.)Lens are good but not apochromatic. Focus is decent and looks sturdy enough.Overall , worth the money.

A Good Value, But Do Not Expect Too Much for the Low Price
I looked around on Amazon and found this particular Amazon seller had the best price for this exact lens for about $5 less. (There are other Internet sellers who ask a whole lot more for this lens so shop around.)First, I think a number of the negative reviews are simply from buyers who were not being realistic or did not understand what they were buying. This is a purely manual lens with a fixed F-Stop that increases as the lens is zoomed to a higher focal length. It is a very slow lens suitable for outdoor shooting of still objects under good lighting. If it is not mounted on a tripod, focus and aiming will be extremely challenging. All of these limitations are completely disclosed by the manufacturer and confirmed in many third-party reviews of these common bargain lenses. This particular Ultimaxx lens appears to be identical to many lenses with different brand names, but I think they are all made in the same Chinese factory.Having said all of that, I found the quality to be surprisingly good. The lens is constructed of metal. It has a heavy duty tripod mount that is easy to adjust. I did not detect any scratches, cloudiness, or fungus inside the lens itself. The lens came with a good quality T2-Mount to Canon EOS adapter that worked fine. It also came with a metal 2X T-Mount tele-converter of comparable quality (again, it will add at least one additional F-stop, so be aware). So, I ended up giving it 4 stars, tempered by the extremely reasonable price I paid. It is something to play with.

It's better than bad it's... no it's just bad
So, going in I knew it was going to be a cheap piece of junk but I figured I'd give it a shot and see if I could get it to take anything halfway decent since at max distance it was 4x my current lens I use for nature photography. First off, just seeing through the lens was difficult to begin with. I think I tried just about everything I could think of. I only shot from a tripod, I only used a remote for taking the pictures, I messed with and ran through every setting my camera has and every shot came out dark and blurry (I only shoot manual, even with my other lens so it wasn't an issue with that). I found a nice, still subject on a sunny day and ran through every single shutter speed setting just to see if anything would come out halfway decent. Nothing. In the end I refunded and bought a range extender for the same price and it was the best decision I ever made regarding this lens.

420-800mm lens
I bought this lens for my husband and we loved it enough to buy another for myself. It really takes amazing pictures. These were taken at 600mm, iso auto, shutter 1000, it was cloudy, we are super happy with these lenses. Highly recommend Ultimaxx products.
