I bought this 6" one-hand handheld electric chainsaw for my mother, and it has been an absolute hit! She loves gardening and trimming around the yard, but the heavier tools have always been a challenge. This little powerhouse is exactly what she needed. Not only is it lightweight and easy to handle, but it’s also surprisingly powerful. She’s been zipping through branches and small logs like a pro! However, the real entertainment came when she decided some limbs were just “too tempting to leave.” Next thing I know, she’s climbing on her riding lawn tractor to get a better reach! Picture a tiny electric chainsaw in one hand, my mom perched on her mower like it’s a cherry picker, and me yelling, “You’ve got the ground for a reason, Mom!” Thankfully, the safety features on this thing are top-notch, and she didn’t hurt herself – just her pride when the limb didn’t budge, and she had to call me over to get it. If you’re looking for a tool that’s efficient, safe, and capable of inspiring hilarious stories, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s a perfect gift for gardening enthusiasts, DIYers, or anyone who just loves finding excuses to climb on their lawn equipment!

First - this is not a sponsored or paid review! A little background as to why I needed to purchase a mini-chainsaw. On December 15, 2022, my part of the world (NW Wisconsin) experienced the snow storm of a generation! Ended up with 15+" of heavy wet snow, which weighted down all of the trees (our house is in a highly wooded neighborhood), snapping off tree tops, branches, limbs and freezing the bend over trees into the snow. We were without electrical power for over 3 days. Once the snow melts, clean-up from this storm will last for months. The pending clean-up is exactly why I went looking for a mini-chainsaw. I previously purchased a wood chipper (SuperHandy 7hp model - still available on Amazon) and wanted a mini-chainsaw for cutting up branches to better feed into the wood chipper. In looking at all of the available mini-chainsaws on the market, reading reviews and watching videos, I settled on this model, mainly for the price. Once it arrived, I checked it over carefully (first to make sure it was new and not a return), unpacked everything and read through the user manual. Surprisingly, I found the user manual to be well written and easy to follow - with one exception. There was only a mention of lubricating the chain. There should have been more information about what to use as a lubricant and how to apply it, thus the photos I added. From my experience with chainsaws, the only lubricant that should be used is 'bar and chain' oil formulated specifically for chainsaws. Any other oils (vegetable, olive, motor, etc.) wouldn't be acceptable and shouldn't be used. I purchased 2 plastic condiment bottles from my local dollar store - this will work great. Oil should be applied to the lower portion of the bar, rotating the chain, and applied occasionally when cutting. As for the operation of this mini-chainsaw, I tried it out on some branches (they were only about 1.5" in diameter) and it cut quickly. This mini-chainsaw is mostly plastic and light weight, but that didn't affect the cutting at all. Would I recommend this mini-chainsaw - yes! If you're in need of a small, light weight, easy to use mini-chainsaw for occasional use, this should serve you well.

I cut about 3 pickup beds full of branches and shrubs ranging from .5" to 4" with this little saw and I have to say, it did a pretty good job! When it's all tuned up and lubed it runs and cuts great. The downside is that it takes some work to keep it tuned. Firstly, there is no oil feeder on the saw. You have to dump bar oil (not included) onto the chain every now and then. If you don't keep it lubed, it will overheat quickly and the thermal overloads will prevent operation for a bit. Secondly, the chain needs fairly to be tightened fairly often and the tightening mechanism leaves quite a bit to be desired. I found the screw starting to strip if I didn't fully remove the chain guard to allow for the screwdriver to fit into the hole better. The battery life has been really good so far! I have only had to recharge the batteries once. I wish the batteries had a charge indicator on them, though. You have to plug the battery into the wall in order to see the charge status. Overall, its a good little saw for the price as long as you keep your expectations in check. It is bare-bones in features, but if you just need a cheap saw for some light cutting, look no further!
