Worst machine ever!! Does not clean
This is a friends machine which I am helping wash clothes in. I do not own this machine and so wish she didn't either!! She has several dogs that shed, and nothing is ever clean. The fresh washed towels all stink of wet dog when wet themselves. YUCK!!! I am spending inordinate amounts of time rewashing everything. Her linen closet now stinks from all the barely washed clothes. I watched the rinse cycle last night for 20 minutes. All it did was trickle the water into the machine while the tub slowly revolved, which only dampened the outer edges of the load. This resulted in the clothes in the middle not getting cleaned or rinsed. There was actual wads of dirt on top of the center of the clothes, and I was picking clumps off when I folded them!! Nothing this machine actually does is clean, just wetting and spinning. There is not enough water added to actually submerge the clothes so how clean can they get? I swear, a rock in the middle of a stream would result in cleaner clothes. At least the pounding you do would have results even without soap! And there would be sufficient water to submerge and get the items wet. They should have a class action lawsuit against them for the lies they tell. I wish my friend could switch them out for better quality machines. I may bring her my 26 yr old Maytag dryer and my even older washing machine from my BnB business since I have closed it. Then she can unload this crap on some unsuspecting newby homeowner. GARBAGE and buyer beware!! They have ZERO support in Customer Service.

Avoid at all costs! You've been warned.
Our old Whirlpool washing machine lasted for almost 25 years. Top loader and it was as reliable as a sunrise. Long story short, we were sold on Whirlpool. We purchased a High Efficiency model on Black Friday, got a great deal, and were never happy with it (clothes were spun so hard the wrinkles wouldn't come out and the water level was laughable and the clothes didn't seem clean and powder was often left on the clothes) but we soldiered on with it and after only 5 years, yup 5 years, it went completely haywire. We had it recalibrated and reset..etc...but to no avail. ___ Well, I guess we were slow learners, five months ago we replaced it with a Whirlpool agitator model (the one listed here) and now, ONLY FIVE (5) MONTHS, YES MONTHS, LATER, the agitator has seized up. Everything works but the agitator is just locked in place and won't budge. It was working perfectly, and BAM! ___ something seized up. We are only two people in this household and do laundry only about twice a week and only usual small loads of shirts, socks, pants..etc. I can't imagine this machine would have lasted a week for a normal family of 4 with children where the machine is used daily. I don't know what's happened to Whirlpool, but they have completely collapsed in quality. These new machines are junk and the repair bills will quickly equal the price of a new machine, so don't bother. And even though this one is under warranty for a year, the Customer Service folk at Whirlpool are useless. They will basically tell you to contact the place where you bought it. Oh...they will be soooo' sorry and sympathetic and they will do NOTHING. I can only tell any prospective buyer to AVOID THESE PRODUCTS LIKE THE PLAGUE THEY ARE. We've gone through two machines and this one has lasted 5 MONTHS. Never again, never, never, never. If this is indicative of Whirlpool quality today, they are doomed as a company. It's truly sad to see this happen to a once very reliable American company. ~sigh!~I can only end by saying that I wish it were possible to give this appliance and company a negative rathing.

DO NOT BUY !!!!
we bought ours new in 2019. I wasnt thrilled with the water levels but I thought it was the new way to wash. It started to be off balance alot around mid 2020. I thought it was because I wasnt loading it correctly I would stop it and recenter the clothes but nothing helped. it would band and walk away from the wall because it would bang so hard. then it wouldnt spin at all. spent $80.00 for a repairman to come out 5minutes he said the bearing were shot and the tub arms were bad. would cost more to fix than replace. This machine is defective. this problem didnt happen over night ,it has been bad for a while. I called whirlpool customer service the best they will do is give you 15% off a new one online. I will be lbuying a new washer and you can bet it wont be a whirlpool I am looking into a class action suit.

WORKS WHEN.....
Purchased at Best Buy. Google RE SET. Most re serts based on service manuals are onerous. One reset calls for opening the lid 7 times after doing something else. That works better and is faster.OPEN letter to all new machines of which MOST brands use the same Chinese computer according to our local Whirlpool Service Provider:Dear Clowns at Whirly Drool,My last machine lasted over 30 years of trouble free running.Parts less than $20 and labor less than 1 hr. DIY.Now you have sub standard programing by crap ware computing from China.Reprogrammed your machine already 4 or 5 times with added hours of research.Slow wash, irregular spin and on and NO softener dispensing as an added bonus (not enough spin half the time to open the plastic dispensers) .When this machine breaks, I am looking for a used one. (Or rebuild my own controls).Service call to re set the touchy iilogic board $ 200 for a $ 400 + machine? Did they start hiring retarrrrrrrrds at WP?Or are people at corporate blood sucking cockroaches? So much for you former honorable name: Whirlpool, Roper and the fake Sears brand.Unhappy former client.Old styles are available but cost, but will pay for themselves. Whirlpool, Roper, Sears service not a bargain.Do not be fooled by other models that LOOK LIKE the old model. The lid lock and light panel gives them away as new models with the same basic neurotic computer ilogic.Buy an old style with timer and NO LID LOCK if you can find one.
