Picked this up for weekend kayaking on the Yadkin and tossed it into my dry-bag without a second thought. During an accidental swim the entire kit was fully submerged for a good ten minutes; when I unzipped the case back at the truck every bandage was bone-dry and the gauze still crisp. The red nylon shell feels tougher than most soft kits I’ve owned, and the sealed zipper gives real confidence when the forecast turns sketchy.Inside, each sleeve is clearly labeled—cuts and scrapes on one side, burns on the other—so grabbing what I need takes seconds instead of rummaging. The shears and tweezers aren’t the usual throwaway kind either; they snipped through athletic tape cleanly and pulled a splinter without bending. Ninety-eight pieces sounds like marketing fluff, but in practice it covers the stuff that actually happens on a day paddle: blisters, small lacerations, a hot stove burn at camp.Only quirk so far is the bright red fabric does scuff if it rubs against rough deck hardware, leaving faint marks that a wet cloth mostly removes. Small price for a kit that fits in one hand yet feels ready for real mishaps. If you want a truly waterproof pack that’s easy to navigate when adrenaline is high, this one earns its spot in the boat.

This first aid kit is amazing! It’s so well-organized, with everything neatly labeled and easy to find in an emergency. The quality of the items is impressive, and it really feels like they put a lot of thought into making this kit both comprehensive and practical. I love the durable case and how compact it is despite holding so many supplies. It’s perfect for camping trips, car emergencies, or just having around the house. Definitely worth the money for the peace of mind it provides. Highly recommend!

Very compact and has practically everything inside. Zipper is very well made to keep water from entering. Everything has its on place and are labeled. Very easy to use. Functionality of this kit is above anything else.

Great little First Aid kit. Not flashy, not complicated, easy to use and has convenience loops for attaching to backpack, belt, etc.[Note: This is not a "Survival Pack", but it is not intended as one either. It doesn't come with space blanket or hand warmers or knife or matches or any of that stuff. It is for basic first aid in an emergency, and to that end, it is a great little kit.]Pros: Has a lot of handy little basics for First Aid (bandages, CPR kit, surgical shears, hypo-allergenic tape, etc). The one thing I REALLY like about this kit, is that when you open it up, everything has it's own place, it is logically organized, and each pocket is labeled for what it contains and what that item is used for: "Shears", "Crepe bandages: secure dressing / compression", "Triangular bandages: sling/presure/head bandage" etc, etc.. This means that it is easy to find the right item for whatever the first aid situation is, and once you've used that item, it reminds you what you need to go back and refill in your kit for next time.Extra zip pouch on the front for personal medications, or you could also slip your ID, cellphone or some cash in there if this was all you were taking on a hike.There is a little bit of extra room inside the main pouch itself..not a lot mind you, but I added some additional items to my kit. (See below for what I added).Cons: Nothing major. I would have liked for it to come with a few more cotton gauze swabs (cleaning wounds), but again, this is not a major.Other thoughts: Kit was exactly as advertised. I'm very pleased with it, and the price is fair. I plan on getting a couple of Survivorware's other kits soon to stash in various locations (I'd like one for my car, one for my hunting pack, one for basic hiking and maybe something a little extra for when I am scuba diving). There was a little bit of room in this kit, and here are the items I managed to squeeze in and add to my kit so far: more cotton swabs/patches, alcohol wipes, handwarmers (which I have used during hunting trips to help keep myself from hypothermia...it may sound crazy, but a couple of good quality handwarmers can make a huge difference, try one on the back of your neck and close to your chest) as well as a basic tourniquet strap, pair of nitrile examiner's gloves and a glow stick. I hope I never need to actually use any of this stuff, but it's nice to have.

I bought (and still use) a smaller First Aid kit by Surviveware last year and I have been impressed with the quality and contents of the kit and their customer service. I was recently looking for a larger kit that would be suitable for a broad range of situations but still be compact enough to travel with. Working at sea I can be away from land for days or weeks at a time and I don't like to chance that whatever boat I am on has a well stocked first aid kit. I feel much better travelling with my own. In my free time I like to be in the mountains and, again, I feel much more comfortable travelling with a good sized first aid kit. I shopped around when looking for this larger kit and went with Surviveware again because of quality of the previous product, comprehensive contents, value for money and customer service.Having received the kit I am impressed with how well thought out it is. The bag is separated into compartments, each labelled with the type of contents (wound closures, eye pads, gloves, wound dressing etc). Each section of the bag is accessible and no items are hidden - very important in an emergency situation. The bag itself feels like it will last a lifetime and it has a number of different attachment points/methods so that it can be stored or carried in a convenient manner. I like the strap used to mount to the back of a car seat (the manufacturer has a picture of this). It allows the bag to be unzipped and fully open with all the contents still accessible while still attached to the seat.The Surviveware labelled piping is a nice touch a shows an attention detail that is reflected inside the bag too. There is enough room inside the bag for a few additional items if you require something specific to your needs such as an epipen. If you havent figured it out already I am very happy with my purchase and I recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality and well stock first aid kit.
