Good summary of the musical theory of scales and modes
The book provides a very good description of the musical theory underlying the concept of intervals and scales. The author also provides a clear explanation of the different modes of each scale and the near infinite complexity of combinations. However, very few practical instructions on how to practice them.

Good
Very helpful book. It explained a lot of stuff that I was never able to figure out.

Try the music theory book from this author
There is not much content in this book and the text seems intentionally spaced in such a way that it can fill up more pages to look more substantial. The author’s other book “music theory from absolute beginner to expert” was outstanding and I highly recommend it but you can safely pass on this one.

Was very good but.....
What I read was very in depth; too much for a beginner but what I didn't like most was the fact that it locked up my iPad.

Need to read more than once
Bought book to learn how to how to solo between chords. The book is very in-depth, but can be intimidating to beginners. Formulas were informative and will take more than one reading to fully comprehend the material from the author. I wish somehow the author could have simplified the material a little more. Maybe included some exercises the reader could have performed to understand the material a bit more.
