Wowww my daughter loooooved this story…!
I was slightly skeptical Buying this book on a whim. The reviews were so good on it so I purchased. I loved that it seemed wholesome, grounded and relevant for today’s youth. My daughter was captivated by the story and character and read it in 3 days. She loved it so much and said it was her favorite book she’s ever read. She keeps it on her nightstand bless her heart. Buy this book- your daughter will love it. ForReference, my daughter just turned 10.

Friendship
Really enjoyed this middle school book about friendship and singing together. Mia not only finds her voice she also finds the true meaning of friendship. I highly recommend this book to all fifth and six graders. Adults will find it interesting as well.

Nice book
I got this for my 9-year-old granddaughter and she loves it. I don't know many details, but it seems appropriate for her age. She loves to read and was half-way through the book when I talked to her about it. She's probably finished by now.

My great grand daughter could not put this book down!
I gave this book to my eight year old great granddaughter for Christmas and she loves it. The author leaves each chapter hanging and unresolved to encourage the child to continue reading. I will be sending her more of his books.

Sometimes making the right choice isn't easy
I really like Paul Breau's series of kids' books as they are funny and impart a good message without being preachy. In Friendship or Fame, Mia has a beautiful singing voice but she's shy. When her best friend encourages her to join the school choir, Mia enters a new world where there she has a chance to shine, but nothing's easy in school, and there are frenemies to watch out for and choices to make. Like all of us, she makes mistakes and has to learn from them. Highly recommended for pre-teen girls.

This was a gift
Item arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Cannot say much more as it was a gift to a great niece who shares the same name as the girl in the book.

Perfect for my daughter!
I have just finished reading it to my daughter (she is 10 but I still read to her before she goes to sleep). We both absolutely loved the book! It was such a perfect match. My daughter is changing schools this summer. She is joining a music class. She leaves her friend behind and is worried about finding new friends in the new school. The story was exactly on the topic, very well written (I wish I could write like that), full of life. I am following the author. Hope, the story of Mia goes on.

I'd Like Mia to Be my Friend
Breau has done it again with Friendship or Fame; created a story of valuable little wisdoms as relevant to adults (speaking for myself) as to the the middle age audience. As with Jake & Siarra, I was drawn into the reality of Mia’s internal & external dramas, and had to keep reading to find out how she managed her next challenge! Mia is wraught so perfectly as the quiet talented girl, and she plays the final scene in the limelight with total grace

Mia is so genuine and relatable
I’ve had the pleasure of reading all three of Paul Breau’s books, and Friendship or Fame is my new favorite. Mia is an extremely vivid, three-dimensional character, and her struggles are so real and relatable. I loved the complex dynamic between Mia and her best friend, Siarra, and found myself rooting along as she tapped into her inner strength and overcame her fears. This book works on so many levels, and is sure to appeal to younger readers as well as their parents.

Great Message
This book is thoughtfully written and has a good message especially for young girls. My daughter consistently read it each day without reminders which is unusual for her.
