Q: Can you put two of these in the same 86 x 86mm ( Single gang) which has 30mm back box?

No two of these won’t fit into single gang box.

Q: "not to be used in conjunction with smart bulbs on the same circuit." if my room has a philips hue bulb, then can i not use the c204 for it?

That's correct - you shouldn't use a smart switch and a smart bulb on the same circuit. The smart switch replaces the need for smart bulbs, allowing normal non-smart bulbs to be controlled by your Hue.

Q: Does this work with home assistant

As long as you add a zigbee adapter to it then yes

Q: Can this module be operated *directly* by a hue dimmer switch *without* using a hue hub? they both talk zigbee, so i'm hoping they'll work together!

I am using it. I have a room with 2 circuits. one on which there are 2 hue bulbs and one where its all non hue g10 controlled by candeo. I have 1 hue switch with which i control both circuits.
