Held up to my elk hunt weather
These are not for backpackers. Light weight but not that light. Just got back from an elk hunt. These held up to a night of nasty winds and rain. For the most part. Wind was forecast for 35 mph gusts but I know it was closer to 50 with a steady 25-35 mph. It shook the bleep out of my camper even with all 4 corner jacks down to stop the rocking of my truck when I climbed into it. These poles did collapse but they are friction poles. Friction poles only hold so much. If the wind had been no more than 25 mph I think they would have held up fine without collapsing. The tarp I bought on Amazon also was a complete winner as it held up with no tears. I took it down as it pulled up my stakes and tried to fly to BFE. The reflective lines for tying the poles down shine great in a headlamp and are pretty good quality. Not 550 paracord strong but good enough. The plastic tensioners are heavier than most that come with tents and would be the only things I would prefer to upgrade. A nice metal tensioner would make this set perfect for an average camp in a normal rain storm. Oh, and heavier stakes maybe. Anyways, I give this pole set a solid thumbs up from this last weeks use.

Sturdy and Versatile Poles for Car Camping (But Not for Backpacking)
I bought these poles planning to use them for camping. At a minimum size of 3 feet, they'll be tough to go backpacking or hiking with. Taller people might be able to strap them to their back, but at 5'7", I don't plan to.Now that I've gotten that minor frustration out of the way, these are very good quality poles that work well for their intended purpose of making a shelter. When I first set them up, the poles easily locked into place with a simple twist. I've since decided to use them for car camping, where I created an awning off the side of my car.I was really surprised by the quality of all the parts that came with the poles. The set included everything I needed to set up the basic structure, other than the tarp itself. While their lack of compactness is a downside, you get the upside of them extending very long while being very sturdy. These had no issue holding up in the wind and were very adjustable, allowing me to adapt to the sun throughout the day.Overall, this is a great quality product with a somewhat misleading name.

Handy to have
Bought these for a weeklong camping trip to the Smoky Mountains where we were told it’s rainy and moist. Well, first day at our campsite and we have a downpour. These, as well as the galvanized ones my brother in law brought worked like a charm for our multiple tarp setup on our site. I used them at our second campsite in conjunction with my Moonshade since that thing is meant for your vehicle and only came with two poles. I ended up setting it up over my tent because more rain. Glad I bought these, kinda wish they came in brighter colors because I did end up running into them and the lines at night.

Good!
Editing review. Thought there were only 2 guylines for 4 poles but while there were 2 guyline bundles, in fact there were 4 guylines once unraveled.

Not enough ropes and nails
These are really sturdy poles and they come with extra tops but only 1 rope and nail per pole even though the directions say to use 2 per pole. For the price, it stinks I have to buy extra.

Great product for the price
I needed a couple poles to hold up a shade tarp on my boat and these have proven to be perfect. Adjustibilty is excellent and they hold their setting. The eyes for attaching guy lines at the top are a lot more useful than I expected. Great value.
