Good for shop or job site...
Nice heavy duty unit for the shop or job site. This thing can take a beating. Heavy gauge steel construction, heavy duty cord with offset outlets if you have to plug in a wall wart and not cover another outlet. The switch is plastic, but low profile, so it has not been an issue...

Difficult to mount to wall or post.
If you're going to simply lay this on your shelf or floor it's fine. In my case, and since it is advertised to be used in your workshop, it won't hold up. Primarily because although the front case (yellow) is 1mm metal, the backing plate is black plastic with keyholes for four screw heads to slide into. The problem with this setup is that there is no template included so I had to make my own. The screw positions must be dead on, otherwise the keyholes won't grab the screw head. In addition, the screw head keyholes are extremely tight (good), but two of the four would not accept a screw head (bad) no matter how hard I tried to slide a screw in while on my workbench.Beyond that problem, the plastic backing plate is just that - plastic. Remember if you're going to hard mount this to a surface, in my case a steel workbench leg, you're going to be unplugging cords from this thing, and that tension pulling on a thin plastic backing plate is going to rip it up in short order. The backing plate should have been made of metal, like the front case.I came up with a better idea. On my workbench I disassembled the case and opened it up. I marked a safe place to pre-drill and ran some hex head metal screws through the front cover and through the backplate and into my workbench leg. This is a rock solid mounting method and it will never pull out. If you do this, be sure to empty the case of all the metal filings before you plug it in.Despite that all that, I like the long cord and heavy duty look, and I wish they made a 20amp version. The wall plug certainly can handle it.

Looks great but won't work in cold conditions
I bought this for my garage workshop to power overhead lights and other tools. It worked great the first day but the next morning it had died. The button wouldn't turn on the lights without me jiggling and holding it. But, later in the day it started working again?! I finally figured out that it doesn't like the cold conditions in the garage (not super cold - just in the mid 60's). I proved this by setting it outside in the sun for 30 minutes or so and then it started working again. I don't know if this is a design or manufacture fault but I'm sending it back and requesting a refund. No, I would not recommend this product.

Excellent heavy duty power strip for a garage/workshop; fasteners not included.
This "Bestten 6 Outlet Heavy Duty Metal Workshop Surge Protector Power Strip with Cord Management, 6-Foot Cord, ETL Listed" is by far one of the best durable power strips currently sold on Amazon (as of Aug 22, 2016). Although the bottom/base is plastic, the sides and top are metal and the unit feels very robust. It also has a 14-gauge power cord (6' long), which is heavier duty than the standard fare power strip. This makes it perfect for use in a workshop/garage, especially if plugging in high-amp (15A) tools like a router or table saw.The unit requires four #6 fasteners to mount on the four holes in the back. Surprisingly, this unit does NOT include those fasteners, nor a mounting diagram to ensure proper spacing of the fasteners--hence the reason I deducted one star. You will need to hold a piece of paper SECURELY over the back of the unit and then skim back and forth with a pencil until you get a perfect impression of the four mounting holes. Then use that piece of paper to ensure you locate four #6 fasteners EXACTLY on center alignment for the four mounting holes. I used 1" long flat-head screws which I left standing proud of the mounting surface by about 3/16" and this gave a good, snug fit. To mount it, just slip the base of the power strip over the heads of the fasteners and then tug the strip downward (or upward) to "lock" it into place. Once installed properly, it feels very secure.A few things I love about this power strip:- Bright yellow color: less likelihood that people will trip over the cord when walking through my garage workshop.- Extra spacing around two outlets: more room for oversized plug heads, like those found on many device chargers.- Lighted switch: an easy way to turn on/off multiple devices at once.- Built in cord storage: not only does this help you manage the slack of the power strip's 6' cord, but it also provides a handy place for winding up the extra cord length of any device you plug in that is located close to the power strip (in my case, two battery chargers for my cordless Dewalt and Bosch tools). All in all, this is a great choice for a heavy duty power strip. I'm pleased with it, and my only frustrations were the lack of mounting screws and a mounting template. Those aren't deal breakers, but they add a little inconvenience to an otherwise great product.

I would recommend it.
I have an outdoor power outlet by my patio which is not in a convenient location. I mounted the power strip to the wall in a convenient location and plugged it in. Recently a new roof and gutters were installed and the workers plugged equipment into the power strip. I have used it for leaf blowers, sanders and saws for various projects. No problems! I would recommend it.

Very good service from the seller and a good product.
I at first wrote a bad review for this product as only one out of the three I purchased worked after just a few days. The seller contacted me and sent me two new surge protectors and after two weeks they are working like they should. I'm very happy with their service and their effort to satisfy me as a customer. The problem I had was the on and off switch was not working. It wouldn't go on and stay on. The seller informed they would be contacting their vendor to fix the problem.
