Harris Coco Coir Pith, 4 Bricks Expand to 9 Gallons of Coconut Coir, Coconut Fiber

This is the second time I’ve bought this product. I use it in all my gardening both in my flowerbeds and in my vegetable gardens. It works well and I’m very happy with it. We’ll buy it again next season when I till my soil

Great coco coir as expected. Purchased to create a safe and comfortable place for our turtle to hibernate over winter in our refrigerator.

Rehydrated very quickly and easily. Mixed with (eyeball measurements) 8 parts coir, 1 part perlite, 1 part vermiculite. I used a butter knife to split off about half a brick and it separates well if you split it along the layers. That way you don't have to rehydrate an entire brick all at once. It's only been 24 hours since my little sprouts were transplanted, but so far so good! Will update if I notice any issues with plant growth. I think this will be a nice, economical, and more environmentally friendly way to start my seeds going forward. Only drawback - It doesn't smell like coconut. Wouldn't that be amazing? Coconut scented seed starting mix? ;)

These will take a long time to use up for my houseplants. It is nice that they are in brick form.

Been using this one pack for potting medium for about a year now and I still have one brick left. You really get a good value for how much it costs, but I would caution that you should really rinse it thoroughly to get all the potential salts out. You can tell these coconuts were probably farmed by salt water by how much sand come out of the husks when rinsed.

Makes a little more than advertised!

I needed a good amount of soil to transfer my lucky bamboo from water, and this product was perfect. It's easy to use, affordable, and compact for storage. I only used half a brick and still had some left over. Mixing in perlite worked great (remember to wear a mask when mixing).

Simply amazing, I was doubtful about buying a compressed substrate but so glad i did. This has a very nice, clean, "dirt" smell, very fibrous, the coconut husk fibers look to be a very good medium for root growth, especially once I added some perlite to the mix. I think without something added this might compact down and slow or even prevent proper root growth. Once I added perlite it was nice and fluffy, I've only just planted my carrots, here's hoping it works as good as it looks. *a little late on the update but my carrots actually turned out great, I had a bit of a crowding issue so they were a bit small but that was on me, next season I just know they’ll be amazing. There is definitely a learning curve to bucket gardening, but I am still in love with this products performance and I will be purchasing more for sure!*

Purchased this 2x now. Beautiful coir. Breaks up to about 9L per brick as advertised, fresh, fluffy & super-easy to work with. My plants love it and it shows, aerates the roots better than regular soil (I amend my soil mix with 25% of this stuff, incredible results). Recommended!

One block of this will fill up just over half of a 5 gallon bucket. Coco fiber is processed well without any chunks and smells fresh and clean ready to mix for your garden. I trust this stuff vs. any mystery "coco fiber" products being sold from china which contain pollutants and cancer causing chemicals. If you grow your own veggies or care for your plants, do not risk it with cheaper goods that may not even be Coco fiber.

Happy to receive good quality coco coir in fact it has a lot less fibres in it than the stuff I bought last year. One cube expanded to more than half a 5 gallon pail...not sure you can tell by the picture. In case you don't know, to use coco coir you must put it in water and it will fall apart and expand considerably so use a large bucket like this and only one cube at a time.

Just left these bricks strategically outside in our 'atmospheric river' - a.k.a. rain overnight, they fluffed up very nicely. Using bits of it for seedlings (I don't know how well it will work at this point), parts of it for mulching very wet area, so far so good. I have back issues and cannot move around the fluffed up coir in bags at the store, so I opted for this being delivered to my door. Works out really well for me.
