Can you test bnc cables with this. if so , do i need to buy adapters to do so??

I agree. If you use a bnc to rg59 f-type connector and use the connectors with the kit that will give you the connectivity you need.

Can you use hub blink on a poe switch?

Although the instructions say "NOTE: DO NOT attempt to use Hub Blink function when connected to a Power over Ethernet (PoE) active port", a switch will not apply PoE power unless it first detects a PoE compatible device. We tested the Klein Scout Pro 3 tester hub blink tool on our PoE switch and it worked fine.

Can someone confirm if this will test cables with a bnc connector or sdi cables?

Unit ships with adapters to test Coax (RG5x/6x) and Ethernet. You would need to purchase an RG to BNC adapter (which cost about $1 US each). Klein may have a version that ships with BNC adapters. But I, personally did not choose that option nor do I remember the alternate options, offhand.

What is supposed to go in the open slot in the case below the test unit? Have tone receiver that goes to the left, what goes in the rectangle cutout?

Not the premium tone generator (with clips) in the VDV500-820 probe kit. Only the toner wand fits in the left cutout.

Einfache Anwendung, sehr gute Qualität und Lieferumfang.

Hatte vorher schon einige Kabeltester von Aliex…. aber diese sind nun alle in den Müll gewandert, da sie wesentlich schlechter sind als das VDV501-852. Leicht verständliche Anleitung (sogar auf Deutsch auf der Webseite des Herstellers zum Download verfügbar) und einfache Handhabung. Bin voll zufrieden
