Pricey, Beautiful Tool
This is definitely a splurge as an ‘advanced’ DIY electrician and you could only really justify the price if you were crimping ferrules daily, but what a nice tool! I am so impressed with the smooth application of force and the resulting compact tip. I’ve been going around the house putting ferrules on everything from 18 gauge speaker wire to 6 gauge EV charger connections and it is so nice to no longer have splayed out potentially dangerous free strands. Instructions could be more clear about the 2 settings.

Quality you’d expect from Knipex
High quality tool that I’ve come to expect from Knipex. Doesn’t require much hand strength and gives a solid crimp.

Does a perfect job, but over priced in the US
The ferrule crimp one gets is ideal - from 6 sides it crimps down multiple rings into the ferrule, thus retaining a round ferrule but a tightly crimped set of hexagonal rings holding the wire. Downside is the US sourced version is about 190% of what it should cost. Order this model direct from the Germany site of the retailer to get it at substantially less than the listed price here in the US.
