I love them!
Let me be clear. There is only one other thing on this planet that will never ever mix with H2O other than oil and that is wood. In the times of wooden battle ships, many of Napoleon's navy ships -like England's- would be sent off to battle with their hulls rotting because by the time they completed construction, the wood had begun to decay; and since their single purpose was for the use of cannons, knowing that the odds of sinking were painstakingly high, they sailed off regardless.Enter the twentieth century with the introduction of epoxies for boating and wha-la! Here is one of the the few real life examples of having your cake and eating it too. I enclosed some pics to illustrate how the water just beads right off allowing the wood to do its thing solo. One bonus I discovered from my experience is that the epoxy ran down the sides as gravity is always a variable on earth, hardening and water sealing the bristles sitting on the outer circumference helping to prevent the common mushrooming that one sees over time with regular wear.Five stars. I love them!

Very stiff bristles
The bristles are a lot stiffer than I expected, like boars hair. Not sure if I would use these on my ceramic coated Greenpan cookware, but it is very effective on my stainless steel pan and for dried on bits on my plates. The wooden handle has cracked in a few places after only a few uses. I don’t keep it near heat, and I let t air dry after each use. Although bristles haven’t fallen out yet, it will only be a matter of time.I like the biodegradable natural materials and the aesthetics of this brush, but because of the above issues I probably will not get these again.

Durable and perfect for seasoned cookware
We got these to use on our cast iron, paella pan, steel wok, and other seasoned cookware. They are great, just the right amount of abrasiveness. We've been using the same one for several months and it is still going strong and I'm just seeing the wear on the bristles. The wood is a bit discolored but not in a gross way. It doesn't smell and no mildew that I can tell. I keep it in a little dish with drainage and bristles down between uses. Way more durable than plastic brushes and I like that I can use it on hot cast iron and it will keep its shape. I will always keep these in my kitchen.

Hey REVIEW REVIEWERS! Tell the shipping department that my items arrived and dump this review.
Ew. Smelly. I believe these are biodegradable because they smell like the process has already started. I don’t know what the brown stuff was that ran out of the brush. Ew.Even without the smell and mystery brown stuff, the brush is so stiff and coarse I’d only use this brush to clean something like an engine block or scrape mud off my shoes…. It will never come in contact with my favorite dishes, to be sure. I really wanted to be happy with these, but I can’t see an upside.

I got 4 of these and after reading reviews I decided to tweak them a little. I dipped each in Minwax stain up to the bristles and let them soak for a bit. After drying for a 24 hours, I rubbed off as much stain as I could then waxed them with Minwax. I gave 3 as gifts and kept one for myself. After 4 months none have developed the mold that some are complaining about and no chips or breaks so far.
