Amazing Stories: The Complete Series

So good.

I recently watched the new Amazing Stories on Apple TV and it was terrible. It got me thinking, is the original series still available and was it still as good as I remember it being? The answer is yes and yes! Stephen Spielburg was a creative powerhouse in the 80s with hit after hit movie. Every decent actor wanted to get in on it. So this is a great collection of very creative stories with big name stars. And family friendly so get this set, sit down with the kids and show them how good TV was when we were kids! As timeless as Raiders of the Lost Ark still is today.

Got this for my wife after hearing her mention "the plane one" several times. We both remember watching these as kids and have, so far, enjoyed all of disc one. These are NOT high def / remaster videos. When you put them on a widescreen it's not crisp like a modern show, but let's face it... nobody is buying such an obscure title because they remember how crisp the graphics were. They're buying it because they are great stories (some of Spielberg's finest work) that we remember watching when you actually had to be in front of the tube at a given day and time and you looked forward to the next day/time with great anticipation.

I ordered "Amazing Stories" because I watched the program when it was new on NBC. I like mystery shows, so when Amazing Stories came out on NBC when it did I watched every episode with great interest. I give NBC a big thumbs up for having run this program, and am hoping one of these days a similar type of program appears on the Peacock Network, since NBC has always been one of my favorite TV networks.

I found the set to have a better picture then I expected but I think it also has to do with the tv and player you use. I use a 49” Sony 4K tv with the x1 chip and the Sony x800m2 4K player. The show is better then I remembered so that’s a plus if your a fan I highly suggest you buy this set.

Good quality and discs mount very firm. Has the standard title and music, but some of these that aired on cable a while back had some cool intros and outros like a book opening and closing for each story that these don't appear to have. Not a big deal and stories are all there.

when it was on regular network tv I saw a few of the episodes but could not figure out when it was on. Have watched the entire first season and love most of the episodes and will watch them again down the way and love it and that I can program them the way I want to Fun show

Bit hit and miss, but more hits from the master himself.

I love how nostalgic the series made me feel, took me back straight to my childhood when I used to rent them on videotape. 5/5

Really good

The DVDs we received were Region 4 DVDs, which do not play on North American DVD players. Very disappointing.
