The 24Ai is line-in only. You'll need your own preamps.

Q: Will this work with pro tools 10?

The issue is whether the interface works with your computer. If it does, any software that sees the 24Ai will see its inputs and outputs. Get MOTU's latest driver and you should be fine. It uses your browser to talk to the 24Ai. There is one issue with the MOTU. It will default to having 24 ins and 24 outs, and will assume the 24 ins are all analog on its routing page. They claim 48 inputs so this was driving me nuts. Then I found I could type over the number 24 in the inputs box and replace it with 48. Magically this worked and all the ADAT inputs came alive. Could find nothing about this in their manual or on the web. Maybe I missed something. One more thing. This box takes a good while to boot up. After 30 seconds the screen looks like it's happy but I'm finding that waiting 60 seconds is safer to let it handshake with all the stuff you've connected to it. Otherwise some very strange things can happen. Anyway, got all 72 audio pathways happening now, each with its own tiny meter.
