Goodbye “The Original”, Hello Eagle Grip! 🦅 🇺🇸
I’m in the garage door trade where a good pair of grips can mean the difference between going home at the end of the day and going to the hospital when working to fix a door that’s off track or has counterbalance issues. It’s not uncommon for a service truck to have 10 or more pairs of grips. My grandfather started our company in 1966 and we’ve been loyal to the “Other” brand since the start. When the “Other” brand shipped their production to China we noticed the differences immediately and weren’t exactly happy, we continued to buy them because it seemed everyone that tried to make a similar product goofed it up somehow. After initial testing I’m super happy to say Eagle Grips are without a doubt my new go to for grips! These are everything you need in a pair of locking pliers and more, all while keeping to the basics that make a great locking pliers. The fit is great and the finish is above and beyond what is necessary. The price point is right what I’d expect for a quality USA made tool. I have two more pairs on order already and look forward to swapping out all of mine, in fact we’ll even be supplying these for all of our technicians going forward. Thank you Malco and thank you DeWitt Nebraska for once again making a product I’m proud to own!

America the Beautiful
Impressive tool. I don’t think anybody else can compare top quality build functional and the liability is incredible. Buy one.

Best "Vice Grip" I've ever used
I remember 30 years ago genuine Vice Grips would never slip when you really needed them. Then something changed, maybe they moved manufacturing offshore, started using cheaper materials, who knows but they no longer worked like the old days. Over the years I tried buying new Vice Grips, Snap-Ons version, Harbor Freight, Milwaulkees etc. All were "just ok" and would still slip when you really needed them. I'm happy to report after a few months of owning these Eagle Grips they have not let me down. My co-workers always want to borrow them when they have a rounded bolt etc. since no other locking pliers work as well. These grips are not cheap, but they are worth every penny, especially when it's they only tool that will get you out of a jam. They have a quality feel and will likely last tens of years. Do yourself a favor, spend the money for a quality tool THAT DOESN'T SLIP.

This thing is almost too pretty!
I did not need this tool, but got one anyway because I am a sucker for a very well made USA tool--even if I rarely use it. Malco company is a good story too. It's great to see that even though Irwin cheaped out and moved manufacturing to China, this co. came through and flourished. Some people WILL pay for quality made USA products, and this Eagle Grip is a good example of that. The finish is unbelievable and quality looks rock solid. Someday I'll hand this down to someone--so kids, if you are reading this be nice, and please stop asking me for money, lol.

Striking presence eclipses vintage quality
Another review from a fellow Petersen USA vise grip fan. I just received the 7" malco eagle grip in curved jaw/wire cutter today. You know, it's always more exciting to open a new-old-stock vintage pair of Petersen's than it is to open today's super soft, misaligned jaw, disposible Irwin's or Milwaukee's (though, they do have their uses) This yearning brought me to try Knipex ones (I love their cobra pliers & pliers wrench) but their locking pliers left a lot to desire for me (shocked that they also used soft jaws). These malco pliers are so impressive, they make me feel funny. I may have to just keep them mint, by my chair to actuate and inspect again & again for a while. The look and feel of them alone...these are in a completely different league! If a quality pocket knife costs a person $100+, then these locking pliers are a bargain! As far as I know, this level of finish & quality in locking pliers is world premiere...if not, I never found them. Snap-On doesn't count, because those are actually these. I'm also hoping success brings new sizes. I would love to have a 4", 5" & 6" set of malco eagle grips for my small bag. So rarely does anything modern exceed what once was. And do it in the original factory building & address! Just brilliant. My grandfather would have also been blown away by these. I'm heading to order the 10" curved/wire cutter now...

You get what you pay for…
and these are absolutely worth every penny they cost. Absolutely the best locking pliers made today. Made in the USA at DeWitt Nebraska, where Vice Grip brand was made before being sold to Irwin & manufacturing moved to China. These are as strong if not stronger than the vice grips my dad bought 50 years ago, with a fit & finish that is equal to none. I now own 2 pair of the 10” & a pair of 7”. But don’t just take my word for it, go over to Project Farm on YouTube & watch them put to the test. If you just need a pair of locking pliers that you may use one or twice, sure, buy the cheap ones. But if you need them on a regular basis, & want the best, then Malco is the one you want. And you will be passing them down to your grand children to use.

Locking pliers are supposed to kick around in your toolbox, get used as a last resort, and be thrown across the yard when things break after beating on them with a hammer. Not these ones, they go in the drawer next to the snap-on stuff you shouldn't have bought and spend more time admiring than using. Yes, I like them a lot.

Bought after watching a review on project farm. Not cheap, but really great quality. A great stocking stuffer.
