Brilliant and easy to use stain
First thing it should point out is that: this is a stain. NOT a varnish. There's a few negative reviews complaining about a lack of sheen. It's a stain. It colours the wood and leaves a Matt finish. I used this to stain spruce to make it look like oak for some floating shelves. The stain was easy to use. Very simple to apply with a brush and odour free. It was dry to the touch within 30 minutes. I used boiled linseed oil (made by the same company) to seal and finish and I will use beeswax to create a sheen. It's an excellent product. A little goes a long way so great value for money and a nice colour to the wood.

Bottles leak but sample pack of stains still good.
The necks of the bottles aren’t long enough to seat into the seal at in the too long caps. All were leaking but only slightly. They continued to bubble out stain as they warmed up after transit on a cold day. I washed the lids and the threads of the bottles and kept them upright. Not a major problem and nine colours of stain was a good price. I’ve tried them on some wood offcuts and the colours are great. It might be blotchy on cheap softwood but good coverage on hardwoods. Obviously stain alone cannot turn plywood into rosewood. Best applied with a pad. Easy to blend. Excellent for my model boats. Shame about the bottles but stain was good wuality

Excellent product for restoring wood furniture!
The kit is a fantastic product for anyone looking to restore or refresh wood furniture. The stain is highly concentrated, meaning you only need a small amount to achieve great coverage. It dries quickly, allowing for multiple coats in a short period of time, which is ideal when you’re working on a project with several pieces of furniture. The application is smooth and easy, and the finish looks professional, with a rich, even colour that enhances the natural grain of the wood. I was especially impressed with how quickly the stain dried – it allowed me to finish my project without long waiting times. This tester kit is a great way to test out the colour before committing to a larger quantity, and I’m very pleased with the results. It has certainly breathed new life into some old furniture. I highly recommend this product!

Not Ideal
Needed some stain quickly, and clicked on this. Wish I’d ordered the same type I’d previously ordered. This is inconsistent and does not give the sort of finish look I was expecting. It will work for some projects but sadly not what I really wanted.

Good product - attractive stain colour
Works well - used the dark oak colour and created an attractive effect on the wood. A little bit messy to apply as liquid based but okay to use with a cloth and a brush for trickier bits

So quick, so easy, so effective! Perfect!
This is the Walnut stain, with before, during and after photos! The worktop is unfinished beech from Wickes. I knew I wanted a dark wood but it’s been 6 months since installing as I was scared of getting the wrong colour or finish. I bit the bullet when I saw the reviews on this, whilst searching for a well known brand of stain. I applied it with an old sponge, wiping in the direction of the grain and only needed a small amount for this whole worktop. You do need to be quick to spread it out and rub it in, but it’s very easy and took me only 20 minutes in total. Thank you! Now I’m wondering if I could stain my dining table and chairs 🫣
