Does what it's supposed to do
Arthritis makes it hard for me to hold books, or even a Kindle, and the traditional three-sided reading pillows don't have the right angle. This works great. It's very squishy and easy to manipulate positioning. Also very lightweight. Easy to put on my chest/stomach and prop my book.It doesn't grip the book strongly, so doesn't really stand alone. Probably wouldn't be the best option if you want to put the book on a table and read hands-free.But it works very well as a prop, letting you hold the book as you normally would. After a year of daily use, the stuffing/pellets are deteriorating and the pillow is losing firmness and malleability. Still useable, but starting to be annoying. It served me well. Reordered.

Really cool, versatile iPad lap cushion
At first I avoided using this lap-thing because it had a strong chemical odor to it. I considered returning it, but I like that it's taller and more maneuverable than the other cushioned iPad lap stand I've got. After letting it air out for a week outside, there is no discernable odor anymore (and I'm quite sensitive). I've come to love this stand and now use it daily. As mentioned in other reviews, it's true that the bottom of the iPad gets covered by the 'handle' of the cushion, when it's set up as shown in the photo -- but you can also lay it across the top of the cushion and hold it on your lap that way very easily, so the whole screen is visible and easily worked with. I'm impressed that it manages to feel pretty sturdy, and I've not had a problem with my iPad slipping off (but I do have an attached screen cover on my iPad, which further stabilizes the whole set up a little bit). Also, it works well resting on my torso when I'm reclined in bed. Or if I'm sitting cross-legged on the bed, the screen is a good height right in front of me resting on top of the stand like it's a pillow. In any orientation, it's much better for my needs than the geometric foam cushion stand also found on Amazon (whose aesthetics I prefer, honestly, but this one is the one everyone reaches for day-in, day-out).Anyway, when shopping around for a stand, I thought I'd probably hate this one because it looks pretty bulky like an unwieldy beanbag, and I wanted something streamlined. But it's not awkward to use and it's really light, with super tiny beads of what feels like styrofoam making up its bulk (there's a zipper, but I haven't unzipped to check). It isn't a loose beanbag -- it's more formed than I expected. I also didn't love the fabric at first (swimsuit-ish material), except that it notes on the tag that you can wipe your screen with it, in a pinch. Pretty handy. Lastly, it's not hot, either, and I don't feel the heat of the iPad through it at all. Actually, I'm using this stand right now with a MacBook Pro that runs pretty hot, and I feel no heat at all on my legs/lap. Both computers fit well, too. So, essentially, this stand works great for laptops as well as iPads.Docked one star for the initial odor issue, since I think they could have off-gassed the materials first, prior to manufacturing/sale, but smart design and versatility earn this iPad cushion full marks otherwise! Happy I gave it a shot.EDITED TO ADD (a year later): Renegade Concepts stands behind their products should there be issues, which is awesome, and they couldn't be more pleasant to interact with. We continue to love the LapPro and prefer it to all other stands in the house.

They messed this one up
Way too expensive for what you get. Just used a cushy pillow. The beads inside are too dense… you can push your device back all you want; it still pops forward. I do wanted it to work. It’d make a good neck pillow I guess and it is sturdy. But you can’t get it to “smush back” to hold your tablet.

Perfect For STEAMDECK
I purchased this lap pillow specifically for my Steamdeck OLED and it is a gamechanger! One of the best accessories I have purchased for my deck. The deck length fits with enough room to rest my (small) hands and wrists on the sides of the pillow while I'm playing. This pillow almost single-handedly took care of the wrist fatigue and soreness that comes with the bulk and weight of playing the deck. The zippered compartment is a great touch. I keep a stylus and an aux cord stashed inside. There's enough room to stash a power brick/cord and earbuds if needed. My husband was so impressed after seeing mine that he wanted a lap pillow for his deck as well. So I purchased another and he loves his as much as I do.We couldn't be happier with our Lap Pro Pillows. Now we game in comfort.

Fits tablets, but not if they're in a case.
I purchased this tablet pillow after reading the mostly glowing reviews. I chose this one over a similar product because it has a zippered pocket to hold earbuds, tablet (without a case) and perhaps a stylus or other small needed item. The idea that you can zipper your tablet, earbuds, stylus and lip gloss into the pocket which is lined with soft fabric and then carry the whole shebang by the pillow's built-in handle appealed to me.Upon receiving the LapPro pillow, I found that it was made of a slick-surface polyester fabric which slides around on surfaces and is the kind of fabric that will develop snags or pulls easily. A cotton-type fabric would be preferable, and would have added to the stability factor. The pillow does what it is made for...it props up your Kindle or small tablet for better viewing. You need to kinda mold the pillow innards to make it stay where you want it, then it's pretty stable. If the zippered pocket were just an inch or two deeper/larger, it would hold my Samsung Galaxy tablet in its protective case. It does hold my smaller Kindle, case and all.Overall, a decent item for a fair price.I would have ordered it in a neutral tan or brown color instead of bright blue, if it had been offered.

Exactly what I wanted
This works so well for my iPad case with the Pencil holder. When I fold it open the big edge hooks under the lip of the holder and leaves the Pencil slot free. I can draw it closer for intricate work, set it on my lap for reading, or put it on the bed surface to watch a video. This was the drawback of the solid foam type.I took a star off for sturdiness even though it is well made. Because this kind of bean bag does settle. But it depends on pressure. The bean bag seat I use is half the size of my cat's, now. 🤣 but I will see how long this one lasts the way I use it. If we cram stuff in or on it it will lose shape faster than if we let a device rest on it while it rests on our lap.
