Perfect fit for my car
Air filter arrived on time without any delays whatsoever. It fits perfectly on my car’s engine air filter box. Installation was easy peasy. Of course, I had the help of watching a couple of DIY videos online. Quality seems to be good. There are cheaper engine air filters out there being sold, but this time I decided to try a name brand that’s well known in the automotive world. So, the value for the money may be just alright.

Just Ok. Fit and Install was a pain
It's really a tight spot to get this filter in but the Toyota OEM filter stays in place when installing. The procedure is to place it in the top of the filter canister and then slide the top down into the bottom of the air filter box. It's easy with the OEM filter because the filter fits tightly in the top of the box and stays in place. This filter was a real pain because it does not fit in the top of the filter box and will not stay in place and falls down. It takes a lot of patience to get the top of the filter box positioned and installed when the filter is moving around. It took me about 15 minutes to finally get the filter in and top bolted back down, Filter works once installed but I will probably stay away from Fram filters in the future. I would rather pay double for the Toyota filter than to deal with the pain of installing this filter,

Fits 2006 Toyota Highlander (non-hybrid) well and does the job
The product I received was made in USA and looked slightly different from the product pictured on the web-site. Mine had a mid-rib of the same rubber like material that you see on the edges. The original Toyota filter (made in Japan) for comparison looks in appearance like the Premium Guard PA5432 filter available on Amazon site, but I thought I'd try out the Fram due to their "increased HP and acceleration" claims. Increased or not, you can't go wrong as long as it fits. It did fit my 2006 non-hybrid Toyota highlander with a slight nudge. Took a couple of minutes, but that's it. Once installed all's well and does the job. The filter did not have a "top" and "front" labeled like the original Toyota and don't seem to find any arrow either as someone mentioned; so just remember that the pointed square corner should face driver side headlight. Also remember that if fixed correctly and filter casing clipped on you should NOT see the white filter from the (out)side. Whether Mann or Fram or Premium Guard, ultimately depends on the fit to your particular vehicle and I did notice there're slight changes in product design and dimensions that may make some marginal difference in fitting like a glove. Cheaper than the Toyota and does the job. Recommend it.

Purchased many times - tips for installing 2009 Toyota Highlander - which side is up?
I have a 2009 Toyota HIghlander with 170K miles that I bought brand new and I have therefore purchased and replaced this exact filter many times. It is true it is not marked up / down regarding which side goes up or down, but if you look at the white rubber gasket you will see one side has a clear indented channel running thru the middle of the gasket. That sides goes down. Also on that same side, you will see two small rectangular indentations about 3/4" long - those go to the front of the vehicle. If you look at the front end of the filter housing where the filter sits down on the housing you will see corresponding rectangular forms. Another comment - I have replaced this filter many times and it can be a "pain" to get it to slide in. Tips - the two 10mm bolts do NOT come all the way out - they remain inside the plastic housing once they are unscrewed all the way. There will be two male plastic protrusions on the end opposite the two bolts. You have to lift up the bolt side about 2-3" and then those two tabs will slide out from their female mounts. I have found that if just try to lift and tilt without sliding the male tabs out, you will have a challenge to get the filter slid in. I also loosen the large wire clamps on the large hose that goes into this assembly to allow the housing a little wiggle room. Just be sure that large hose which is about 4" goes back onto the housing completely (look at bottom edge also) and then re-tighten the wire clamp. Finally, double check the numerous small air rubber hoses. They will frequently get pulled off or even cracked on the ends during this process. Make sure that are all still in place and not cracked.
