All my stuff is safe....
Looking for something that can store your valuables and isn't so big that it takes up a huge space in your closet? Introducing the Honeywell Model 5113 Steel Security Safe. This safe is really nice and it is a perfect size. Its about 12inches long give or take and weighs about 20 lbs or so. The outside is all black (of course) and the edges are smooth and rounded. I haven't seen any weld points anywhere on this safe. The inside has an included shelf that is removable and it includes pre-cut carpet on the bottom. There are 5 holes at the very back to where you can mount this thing on a wall and 3 holes on the bottom to where you can mount this to a floor or shelf. I have mine mounted on a shelf. It includes 2 long phillips head screws with washers and 2 bolts. If you plan on mounting this in the floor or shelf, you will need an extra long screw with washer. If you plan on mounting this in the wall you will need extra bolts or screws, depending on how you plan to mount it. It was very easy to mount on the shelf.Thieves will have a hard time breaking in this safe. I wouldn't call it crow bar proof but the amount of time and effort would not be worth it to them. It is very difficult to get a crow bar in between the door and body of the safe. The metal is thin but sturdy and strong. There are 2 cushion pads on the door so when you close it, it won't make a "clamp" sound. This is a very thought after safe. The keypad itself is very easy to use. It uses 4 AA batteries that are included but unfortunetly mine were damaged so I had to use some of my own. No biggie since I have a bunch of them. The digital display is easy to read and setup is a breeze. Very simple and clear instructions. You can use between 3-6 numbers as your security code and you can change it as many times as you like. It beeps when you press a pad but if you press the "clear" button twice you can turn the beep off or back on. If you press the "lock" button, the display will show the current status of the battery. "HI-BATT" or "LO-BATT". When changing batteries, the pad will not forget the pass code. Very clever. Pressing the clear button once before hitting any numbers will "hide" your code so no one will see what you're typing but unfortunately you need to do this everytime if you want to keep your numbers hidden. The bolts that actually lock the safe in place are solid. They ain't going no where. There are 2 of them. If the batteries die while the safe is locked, don't fret. The safe also includes 2 keys. These aren't ordinary keys, but those security lock circle keys. If you look at the picture at the top of this page you should see a black rubber grommet to the bottom right of the display. You take that grommet off (with force since its on there pretty good, ladies, don't use press on nails. They will break.) and that is where you can insert the key. Interestingly, if you open the safe with the key pad and then try to lock it with the key it won't work. You can only unlock and lock with the key. Not unlock with key pad and lock with key. The key is well made and long so no worries of it getting damaged. Just make sure you keep one in a SAFE place. Get it? Never mind.Overall I am impressed with this safe. Especially since it's my first one. Highly recommend.

This is worth the money - lots of room, without being too big.
This seems like a well built safe, and very similar in operation to a hotel safe. When the door is unlocked, you simply enter the 4 digit code you want to use and press the LOCK button. To unlock, enter that 4 digit code and press LOCK again and it will unlock. If you just locked it and have a "moment" and forget what code you used, immediately press CLEAR and it will display the code for a couple of seconds. If all else fails, there are 2 keys that can used to unlock the safe. The lock is a barrel key lock, so it should be higher security than a traditional key. The only negative I have to say is that the key is really long - like 4 inches long or so, although the barrel portion is the normal size. It is as though it is to prevent it from being misplaced or so that you cannot mistake this for any other barrel keys you might have. This will present a problem keeping it with your normal keys because it is so long and odd. I have never seen a key like this - sort of like a skeleton key from a century ago, but with a barrel end. Weird. Other than that, it shows battery status, if you put in a wrong code, etc. on the display. And is says UNLOCKED or LOCKED depending upon status. Seems like a very good value. It has pre-drilled holes to make mounting much easier, comes with a couple of heavy duty bolts to secure it, and the two very long keys. And it even comes with a set of 4 AA batteries to get you started. I'm not at all disappointed.

Great safe. Waited a while to review it
Great safe. Waited a while to review it..1) No turn knob to open, which elminates someone easily hitting it on top to open it.2) Battery life is many months (I'm still on original batteries and use it multiple times a day)3) Couldn't be more simple to operate.4) Well made.5) Key hole is somewhat hidden with grommet, and if you forget code, or batteries die for some reason.. It's quite easy to utilize your key. Comes with 2 keys.6) Not ugly!
