The style, of course, is a matter of taste. I happen to have been a real fan of Nambe ever since I was given a butterfly bowl as a wedding gift nearly 40 years ago. It is a bit pricey, but, then, it is art, and how do you put a value on art? As a gift, it is perfect--I've given several pieces over the years, and the recipients never fail to be wowed. I'll bet I've made a dozen Nambe customers-for-life over the years. The initial appearance is spectacular. You might think it looks like stainless steel, but the luster is much softer than that. The metal is warm to the touch, and its thermal properties are as advertised. One note of caution: my advice is to buy a tube of Nambe polish and polish the piece regularly from the start. Once it loses its luster, you'll have a hard time getting it back. Nambe does offer a refinishing service, but it is quite expensive.
