12" x 12" Draft Shield (#4740-CA1212)

We used one last winter ('16-'17) and it worked, so this winter ('17-'18) we are using them on all the vents. We'll update this if there is a problem.Pretty easy to install. (Certainly easier than unscrewing the vent cover that doesn't have good screw holds and then stuffing a couple of squares of insulation inside.)I was worried that the hole in it where the elastic string would allow air through, but the elastic is squeezed in there and fills it quite well.It isn't the fanciest of covers with the string, but you can shove it back into itself through a second hole.Why doesn't anyone make a metal vent cover with a switch that'll seal & insulate itself?

Throw away those useless magnetic vent covers! This is a gem of a product. It takes two minutes to install; and does the trick. The foam stripping, that runs along the perimeter of the cover, seals each side. Great Product! Highly recommended! No more falling sheet magnets from the ceiling!
