I find it very useful, it has so much information and references on how to draw expressions in anime style, so its a very great find. Love the writer.

I bought this and another, similar book from the same author for my niece for her 16th birthday. She’s really into both art and anime/manga, so I figured this would be the perfect gift—and it was. She was over the moon, asking her mom how I knew this was exactly the kind of thing she wanted. There’s a picture of her holding the books and grinning from ear to ear. I browsed the books before I sent them to her— and it looked to me like they were simple to use but incredibly comprehensive. Just from a quick browse, I would say this would be useful for anyone from ages 8 to 80 who’s interested in drawing and anime.

My oldest loves drawing in the anime/manga style. She loves this whole series by Christopher Hart. She has four of them now and likes them all. She appreciated that this particular volume gave more detailed tips and instructions related to expressions and poses, which can be challenging for a budding artist to first master. Christopher Hart’s books are humorous and helpful. These books are pulled off our shelf often by my aspiring artist.

The poses are nicely organized with titles such as "arrogant teen" and "excited", making it easy to find a good reference image for a particular situation. Also, the instruction are actually helpful, showing key spinal and facial lines to get right before adding detail---they are not useless early steps like many how-to-draw books.

This book series is easy to use and lots of fun. The drawings are simple to follow and the instructions very helpful. The quality of my drawing has improved tremendously. Because of Hart's books I am now ready to start creating my own characters! Thanks so much!
