I love motorbikes. I come from a motorcycle family so I was really hoping that the book lived up to the title. If you are a novice, you might. If you are a serious lover of bikes, it won't. Not enough variety, heavy on the Japanese bikes and I find British and American bikes way more interesting.Even so, worth a glance through.

it does exactly what it's supposed to- makes me want to ride. the prose is crisp and uncluttered and the photos are spectacular. a great gift for motorcycle adventurers.

A thoroughly enjoyable and informative book. So many of the books about choppers and custom bikes are just rehashes of old stuff but this is all new pics with a new take on both new and old styles . Covers lots of genres of the custom and standard scene with the emphasis on the new retro styles and some really interesting interviews with characters such as Huggy Leavers . If you like customs , modifieds and keeping abreast of current motorcycle trends this book is for you . If you're just in to the latest fastest bike out of Japan then it probably isn't ! A great book revisited time and time again . Loved it !!

This was a gift for a young person who is very interested in motorcycles. He was very pleased when he opened the present.

I was expecting this to be an average picture book, nothing special but still fun to flip through. I was wrong - it's much, much better than that. For once, the title is correct - it really is inspirational. Everyone with a bike has their own reasons for having one, and here are their stories. The photos are rich and evocative, too, full of telling detail which add real texture to the tales they illustrate. Far better than the flat brochure-style images that bike books are usually filled with. Recommended.
