Fantastic read, filled with inspiring case studies, hints and tips for building company culture
I'm a huge fan of one of Debra Corey's earlier books, 'Build It: The Rebel Playbook', so when I heard she was writing a follow-up, I immediately added it to my list of 'must reads' for 2020. It didn't disappoint. 'Bringing Your Values Out To Play' is packed full of helpful and practical advice on how organizations can ensure they're not just 'talking the talk', but actually 'walking the walk' when it comes to their company values. What I loved about this book compared to similar books in this genre, is the really human, practical jargon-free tone that Debra chooses to use. She includes more than 40 case studies from different companies from around the world about how they have discovered, developed and brought their values to life to build company culture. They're chosen from a range of different organizations, not-for-profits, large corporations, start-ups and agencies including LEGO, Virgin, C Space and Zappos. A great read for anyone leading efforts to drive organizational change, or simply looking for inspiration to shape the culture of the teams they're building or working with.

Playful and engaging with a BIG impact!
If you’re anything like me you’ll find your typical HR book a boring but necessary evil. You know that reading it might help your work but doing so is a long, dry slog!Hurrah good news! This is not a typical HR book!Debra Corey has done it again; (as with her previous book “Build It - The Rebel Playbook“) “Bringing your Vales out to Play” is a comical, relatable and enjoyable read. I read it in one go (and that’s really saying something with my poor attention span).I found the book to be packed with stories, useful anecdotes and working, real life examples. The well researched, advice and concepts are easy to understand and there are heaps of simple tips to apply today within your organisation.Whether you’re just starting out on your values journey or scouting for some ideas to revamp them this book will not disappoint.

Values, the best starting point for what to do you will read
A really easy read, simple to understand, and a great template for success. This is a pick and mix book. You can pick from great examples and ideas, mix them up as you wish and then start the thought process on what you want to do, or, giving you the building blocks for your conversation, whichever you choose.Never preachy, always kind and polite, but deep with nuggets of gold.Enjoy.

Debra’s rebelling again, making us understand the critical impact of company values!
As we all know Debra likes to be a rebel and she’s done it again with this new book!Written in a way which allows the reader to dip in and out of it depending on where they are at with their journey (If you are starting out, read chapter 1, but if you feel your values are flagging, dip into chapter 4).The plays (case studies) allow you to understand how others have done it, but when combined with Debra’s guidance throughout the first half of the book, these plays enable you to imagine a wealth of ideas and suggestions to take/implement within your organisation.Written in an engaging way, I can hear Debra’s voice, simple ideas and suggestions, not just the theory behind the subject unlike many other books of this genre. Well worth the investment.

Get this on your reading list now!
I love the format of this book, it brilliantly combines statistics and research with real life plays on what other companies are doing. So many HR or culture books just quote the numbers and theory without helping you to work out the practical applications. The number of plays in here are bound to inspire everyone who reads this in some way, big or small. It’s like going in to a shop, being able to look around at all the ideas on offer, select bits from each one that might work for you and then taking them home and playing with them. It’s really given me some food for thought and I can’t wait to share this with the team.

A great book and a great read about company values and how to bring them to life
If you are looking at company values, considering how to create, launch or embed them, this is a fantastic book to read. The format of the book, which includes short "plays" from a wide range of businesses, is really easy to read. The content in the book is both very interesting and very inspiring! I would definitely recommend this book for business owners/leaders, HR teams and anyone interested in company values.

You have to get the trilogy!
This very accessible book is a great read as well as an education. Practical tips and advice from a variety of companies all of whom are bringing their values to life for their employees day in day out, and through Debra's brilliant story telling we can share the experience and learn at the same time.(as originally mentioned, if you don't have Debra's other two books you are missing out!)
