Has great resolution (using the 45 mgbs setting)
Been using it for several months now. Small, and handy to fit on front window. Has great resolution (using the 45 mgbs setting). I like the "save event" feature by just touching the left button once. I installed a 64 Gb micro sd card. It collects about 12 to15 days worth of data before the rollover.rewrite. I think it can be unplugged and removed and carried out side the car with you in an event and will still record video and speech for about 15 minutes on it's own power.

Delighted, bought a second unit for my other car *UPDATE* They turned to garbage after a while
Have been thinking of getting a couple of dash cams for some time now, and prices have got low while resolutions have gone higher. I'd never heard of this brand before, but the demo video looked good, the reviews were good, the price seemed very reasonable, and it even came with a 32GB microSD card (which was a brand name quality card BTW). I had a spare 64GB card, and used that. The installation was quick and easy. I let the usb cable go straight down from near the rear view to the power source, it's not a problem. The suction cup seems to work really well. I switched the default video mode from 1080p to it's max setting, which also changes the aspect ratio to wider and shorter. I'm not too sure which I like best, I'm still experimenting. That should be easier now, because I liked this unit so much, I bought a second one for my second car. I may just put them both in one vehicle with each running a different mode to see which produces the most usable video. Both are very good though, and there are other options. I really do not have any complaints, everything works well and it's an easy and thoughtful design. The microphone works well too. I hope that as more people record their dash view, maybe we might see a bit more courtesy on the streets?Update Jan 2019: I'm downgrading this product from 5 to 2 stars because of durability and reliability problems. The unit has three times required a reset to get it working again. The date/time is not held reliably, and when this happens it is almost impossible to find a video on the micro sd card. It's also quite possible that what you need to find was overwritten while some garbage from months ago is still there - all because the unit uses date/time to decide what survives. Yesterday there was a big incident in front of me, I needed the video to report dangerous driving. After an hour of hunting, I could not find it and concluded it was either overwritten or not even recorded. Because of this, a dangerous moron goes unreported. I now need to replace these garbage units - which worked well for about 10-12 months because they went into worthless mode.

Great product worth a little extra cash.
I haven't used this in my car yet, but did take it for a "test run" in-house to make sure it worked out of the box. This is a quality camera! The instructions are clear, but not really necessary as scrolling through the menu and 4 buttons to check their function is just as easy a way to learn the device. There are a lot of settings, which is nice... but can also seem overwhelming. Though, I personally find the options nice. The screen image quality is nice as well as a the g-shock sensor. It makes for a nice smooth image. The sound is crisp can clear (and can be shut off if preferred). The long cable included for charging in the car is a bonus. Clips are provided as well if the cable needs to be held in position out of the way of view or other obstacles. The included micro sd and adapter cards are a nice extra (money saved where other makers do not include a card). The device is a nice size (not obtrusive) when mounted in car (I am assuming this because it's much smaller than my phone which has is mounted low on my windshield and takes up some serious real estate when it comes to looking out my window). Overall, I can't find anything bad to say about this item. It seems to be very solidly constructed and worth the $99.99 I paid for it. Granted, that's not cheap, but I have found that you do get what you pay for, in some circumstances. If you want quality, sometimes you have to shell out a little more. No regrets thus far.

GREAT camera - Proves itself useless over time.
Great camera. The controls are not intuitive, but the learning curve is very small. As for a discrete dash cam, it's almost perfect. Boot up is super fast. The camera is all black except for a bright chrome ring around the lens. The chrome ring reflects light and brings attention to the camera if light hits it right. I took a black sharpie to it and all is well now. In my car it's very hard to see from the outside. It fits almost completely behind the rear view mirror and after 3 minutes the screen darkens, so there is no driving distraction. The video is kind of small on the built in screen, but that's what you get when you want a small, discrete camera. The video is great when transferred to a pc; tag numbers are sharp and easy to read when transferred. One thing that would be a nice manufacturer accessory or option would be a hard wire kit. I didn't want to tie up my cigarette lighter in my car and my truck cigarette lighter is always hot. The hard wire kits are easy enough to find, and are sold right here on Amazon.com. The camera takes a micro usb power cable, and it works best if you get one that has a 90 degree connector so you can better hide the cable. I've tried a few other cameras and for the options and price point, this one is the best in my opinion.I got no discount or incentive to purchase this camera. I purchased two of them after reading the reviews and am very happy with both.Update 9/10/20. About 18 months into ownership of the cameras my wife was almost hit head on by someone texting and drifting across traffic lanes. She was terribly upset when she got home. Once she composed herself and told me what happened I thought no sweat, I'll get the footage from the camera and we'll be able to report the issue to the police. I pulled the sd card and plugged it into my pc, then found that the camera has several files on it that were about four months old. There was one file that was dated way before I purchased the cameras (01/01/80 I believe). Anyway, the battery had died in the camera and every time the truck was started, it continuously overwrote the same file because it lost its date. There was no footage of the incident because the camera had been overwriting the same file every time the truck was started for about 4 months. It even overwrote the incident on her way home. Needless to say, the camera proved useless when I really needed it. I can no longer recommend this camera. If you need a dash cam, bypass this one and get a camera with gps so that if the battery dies, the gps signal will update the date every time the camera boots up.
