It works
I wasn't sure what to expect from this when I bought it. As you can see from the pictures I did paint mine, because I was concerned about the durability of just plain wood. I thought this might stop any activity, but you can also see that it didn't and for a few weeks in July there were lots of bees, which I think are Leafcutters, entering the box. It comes with a very good info sheet on how to use the nest box and is very sturdy. Only downside for me was having to paint it, but that was easy enough so all in all I would definitely recommend this, if you're looking to add an interesting feature to your garden and give a helping hand to these bees at the same time. In fact I tried to order a second one, but they were sold out. I'll try again in the Autumn.

One of the best bee hotels on Amazon...
Bee hotel comes with guidance for use - critically the hotel can be opened up in say, November to allow inspection of the cocoons for removal of parasites: removal of pollen fly larvae (small white/grey larvae), inspection for holes in the cocoons (parasitic wasps) and pollen mites (best to google these). At which point the cocoons can be cleaned, and stored. Please read up on how to care for mason/leaf cutter bees :) I've used bamboo type hotels for a few years but each year I've had to split them for cleaning so this is a longer term solution for me. Wood comes with a few rough edges and the roof could do with polish/paint, but all easily solved. Comes with a cleaning brush. I might buy a second one :)

Good size easy to clean
Seems a good product although a little eyelet to allow you to remove the top layer came straight out and the top layer was too tight to get out easily. The only thing I will do is put a waterproof layer on the roof. Still pleased with the item.

A very good bee house for the money
Really good bee house. Bigger than most you can buy with extra layers, and room at the top to put canes in as well, the Mason bees will love it

Bee house
The item is of basic craftsmanship skills. Does not look professionally made. Lopsided roof and screwd and gaps etc. Disappointing for the money . Not like photograph used by seller.

Love it
Perfect bee hotel. Build and material quality is good. Looks good and seems that it is deep enough to be suitable for bees to next in. So far I have no nesting bees.

Was disappointed by the quality
I’m not sure what I expected for the price point, in terms of materials you get what you pay for I guess. Don’t expect this to be perfect, it’s a bit rough and ready but still functional. Few seasons outdoors and I doubt it’ll matter much. Still, ideal and fit for purpose, will make a nice addition over at the allotment
