M.C. Escher Flipbook

I love these Fliptomania flipbooks and own several of them. They are good quality and can withstand a fair amount of “flipping”. The flipbooks are small, 2x4”, although this particular one is also available in a 4x6” size. This book is really neat; it features the artwork of M. C. Escher, one of the world's most famous graphic artists, who is well known for his optical illusions. This flipbook shows the metamorphosis of insects into fish into birds. Escher had once stated, “Most of all, I’d like to express my metamorphosis…in an animated film …,” which is basically what is being done here. Great flipbook, bringing M. C. Escher’s optical illusions to life.

This is a GREAT flipbook! Everyone I show it to loves it. It shows part of M.C. Escher's drawing "Metamorphosis" and it really brings it to life. The bees turn black and then transform into black birds, which get bigger. Soon, fish appear and then they disappear. The black birds are still there among the fish. When the fish disappear, the black birds get smaller again and continue their flight alone. It's magical! The book is quite small, 2 X 4 inches and 3/8 inch thick. I would love to see the large version. I highly recommend this flipbook!

Excellent art by Escher, the book is quite small, as noted in the description. It is a great little flip book. Just what I was looking for.
