Easy to install & works great

Purchased this to replace an old fashioned lever-action stopper. The metal tab in the drain pipe rusted away so this style was the logical choice. Installation was easy. 30 minutes if you take your time and have no plumbing issues getting things loose and the old stopper out.Other reviews mention leaking. I saw a similar issue. The large nut under the bowl that secures the tube to the sink needs to be fairly tight (using channel lock pliers or a pipe wrench). Hand tight will not do the trick. Add a little Vaseline to the part of the rubber gasket that goes against the bowl. It will allow the rubber washer to slide evenly on the sink as you tighten it down without kinking or becoming unevenly deformed. When done, wipe the pipe and tubes dry and test with some water added slowly to the sink and feel for leaks.Others mention a little water remains in the sink because the lip of the pipe sits about 1/8" high above the contour of the bottom of the bowl. This is not an issue for me. But if you think this would be a problem for you, then it would be best to research others. This also may not be a problem for you depending on the type and shape of the sink you have. Just something to watch for.Other than that, it works as described. It will get 5 stars in another 30-60 days if there are no problems with it at that time.

This is a beautifully made product. Not sure how it will stand up to time but it seems to be quality. While it is a standard size and it does fit correctly into my sink. Because of the silicone washer along with the @1/8" size of the flange that sits on top of the bowl, a puddle of water sits in the bottom of the sink around the chrome. I have very hard water and in just a matter of days there will be a buildup of minerals in this puddle. I was trying to avoid this because the last chrome drain I had de-chromed because of the citric acid solution I used to clean. I will keep this installed until I can find another that sits flush with the bowl.
