A must have for your mechanical pencil collection
Okay I ordered this because I couldn't find my favourite faber-castell Mechanical pencil and they're not cheap to replace.I didn't look at reviews, I didnt look at the description I just bought it because it was quite cheap for an M pencil.I thought it was fine as far as M pencils go, since I'm quite heavy handed and break leads quite regularly, I only clicked out the tip of it and it was fine. But when I came to read the reviews after to write my own review, let me tell you, was I excited, I got up walked to my desk and tried pressing down as hard as I could and lo and behold the lead didn't break 🤩 I think I'll be getting a few of these in as well as some leads to go with them.I would also like to point out, since I love M pencil erasers, that the eraser could be a little better, it feels a little bit like plastic to use, it could have just been the paper I was using it on though I'll try it on others..But yeah, this was a superb find and I'm glad I bought it

Never break a lead again
The mechanism that retracts the lead if you press too hard works really well! :)I prefer a soft/black lead for writing/sketching (easy to write; easy to read; easy to erase), so the lead that comes in the pencil was a little to hard for my liking ...I found a web site called "jetpens" which has an amazing unbiased review of many pencil leads - and ultimately I loaded my pencil with "Pilot Neox High-Purity Graphite Pencil Lead - 0.5mm:2B" which was exactly as jetpens described it.Very happy with my purchase(s) ...just came back to order a few more of these to spread around my life :)

Edit: actually better than [Not as good as the OLEeNU, but better lookingy
See my other review of the OLEeNU, that pencil is better than this one because the spring retraction mechanism is better. However, Zebra do make sexier products, and this pencil is definitely sexier than the OLEeNU.So, do as I did, get both, the practical, solid and comfortable OLEeNU, and slightly less forgiving but looking damned fine dressed in white Zebra.Who would think a man would get so worked up over pencilsUpdate:After a year or two, the OLEeNU has cracked in 3 places (different parts of the pencil) the materials are just weak. This pencil is the better of the two, still going strong.

Probably the Best Mechanical Pencil for the Price
For the price, this Mechanical Pencil packs a lot of technology (for a mechanical pencil), when you apply pressure, a metal tube in the tip extends around the lead and protects it, although it is possible to break the lead if you try really hard. Pretty much most of the time it protects the lead, especially compared to usual mechanical pencils such as the Parker Jotter. It looks much more expensive than it is and in my opinion, it is worth the relatively small investment, especially compared to more expensive Mechanical Pencils without comparable technologies. If you compare it to the cheap mechanical pencil, such as a Papermate mechanical pencil, this feels more expensive and the lead breaks a lot less, although that mechanical pencil is still very good value for what it is in the high street.

Very good quality at an exceptional price
Being left handed I tend to write very upright, and place a lot of pressure directly against the lead, this causes breakage in all other mechanical pencils I have used. This Zebra DelGuard has no problems in this regard, protecting the lead as I write/draw. Very good quality at an exceptional price.
