Great options, great price, great with my Apple products...
I have all Apple/Mac computer products and have had a lot of issues in the past with finding good compatible printers, especially HP printers, so I was very hesitant to give this one a try. I did a lot of research and it got great reviews for Apple compatibility, and price wise online it was a great buy so I figured what the heck, plus with all the options and features (all in one scanner/copier/fax/printer with wifi and Alexa capability), pretty cool. I like to think I know a lot about electronics and computers, but am definitely no expert or computer guru. Right out of the box, it took me only 5 minutes to set up. Power cord, and I admit, I did go wired to my Mac, not wireless. I did go wireless though to my network and did not use the provided network cable. The wireless wifi works great so far. I like the Individual ink cartridges for each color verses the only one for black and one for color like most printers I am used to (so you do have one for red, one for yellow, and one for blue, and one for black). The color touch screen quickly walked me threw the setup and the network setup. Once my wifi network connection was setup, I tried printing an e-mail from my iPhone which found the printer immediately and the print quality was awesome. My MacBook and iPad also found it right away too. I will be honest. I am new to Alexa. I haven't used that option yet, know what those options/functions are, and don't know how or if it is compatible with my other Alex devices. I think it is neat that it does have that option/capability, but honestly wasn't something I was looking for, not sure I would actually use it, but might. I can't comment on durability as I just got this and just plugged it up, but will say, really easy to install, cool options, easy to use, works great with Apple products (Mac, iPhone, iPad), and great price.

Super easy setup, good quality, Great functionality - HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 is a Winner!
I have never used an HP printers in the past, typically a Canon guy, and I must say the overall experience, from setup, to setting up the WIFI, was an absolute breeze. It was extremely simple to set up. (just unpacked the printer 1hr ago) One think I really like are all the apps that this comes with: 1) Family Tree App -, so you can scan all those important documents (passport, birth certificate, etc) - How useful is that? 2) Shoeboxed App - It allows you scan and store receipts and cards in case you might need it - Again another useful app! 3) AiO Remote App - I downloaded this from App Store - You can scan, print from your phone to the printer. Very cool and super easy to use! It has a very user friendly color touchscreen, which just adds to the overall user experience. One point to note, this printer comes with a 3 month free trial to Instant Ink which is the ultimate benefit here. Just think about how much it was going to cost you to replace those ink cartridges. At 9.99 a month for 300 pages it's a winner in my book. Overall, I'm now an HP convert. The fact that it has a simple setup, all of those useful apps, quality printing is an amazing package, and then the bow on top is the 3 months free of instant Ink for this printer. Anyone on the fence about this purchase, I hope this review helped answer some of the questions you might have had, and also make you feel more comfortable with your purchase.

Insanity-inducing, high maintenance, time succubus!
I have owned this printer for almost a year and I hate it. I actually HATE it, I wish I could give this printer negative stars it's THAT bad and it's become THAT annoying, and I want to take it out in a field and smash it repeatedly with a baseball bat like in that awesome scene from the movie "Office Space" where they trash the fax machine that keeps giving them the cryptic "PC Load Letter" error!!! Also, just in case you want to dismiss this review and not listen to the truths I'm sharing here, you should know that I don't usually write a lot of product reviews unless they're positive, but this time I just can't not write a review to share my experience. I really want to save you from making the same mistake here as I did, so I'm not some troll out here wasting your time and this is a legitimate product review. I have actually been an HP fan for many years. I placed a high level of trust in the brand because, until recently, I was able to confidently rely on getting a quality product and great tech support. So I bought this printer thinking it was going to be a good solution based on all the positive reviews I read about it at the time. However, outside of the first month I've used this printer I've had nothing but issues with it, so now I've been driven to this point and I'm officially breaking up with HP. Here's my "Dear John" letter: Dear HP, I thought this printer would provide easy printing and scanning capabilities at home, and I even loved the idea of your ink auto shipping options when the printer sensed low ink levels -- so convenient! I love that I NEVER ran out of ink at inconvenient times, and that you were so considerate of my needs. I thought we were having an awesome time together, but then your printer suddenly became too high-maintenance and I can't take it anymore. For the past 10 months all I've experienced with this equipment is wifi connectivity issues, and I just want you to know I'm over it! And don't even get me really started on how awful your web help interface has become in the last year, or your ridiculous virtual "assistant" that just teases me and leads me in circles. I am a good, tech-savvy person, a digital native, and I actually GET how this stuff is supposed to work and connect, so I put up with your shenanigans far longer than I probably should have, and I'm realizing now that I deserve better. Granted, now, I'm only out like $70, but this is about the principle of the matter at this point. If you're going to market a printer/scanner/fax machine that is cross-platform, you actually need to make it BE cross platform in all it's nuances. This is not a complicated idea -- deliver on your promise. If my various computers, TV, gaming console, tablets and cell phones (all different brands) can ALL connect to my wireless network without issue every time, the wifi and router or the printer's proximity to said wifi are not the issue. I get that there's a chance it could be, so I appreciate being presented with that information and instructions about those procedures as one option should it actually be the issue, and I get that you were probably only trying to help, but that can't be the ONLY solution you offer! When I go online to get help reconnecting the printer to my wifi network, and the only solution you present in your official capacity and help forums is to perform complex, time-consuming wifi networking diagnostics, but you fail to provide any solutions for actually rebuilding the printer drivers or updating the printer firmware, where am I supposed to go after the networking diagnostics prove that the wifi and router are not the issue as I knew they wouldn't be? When I email you, and you tell me to re-download the driver to reinstall and reconfigure the printer on my computer, but I can't because the computer can't sense the printer what do I do next? I'll tell you; I resort to I trying to reestablish connectivity by dragging out my ancient, dusty ethernet cord and connecting physically to the printer, but even this solution is only successful after spending like an hour each time fiddling with it. This is simply unacceptable, I'm tired of it, and we're done. Sincerely, Completely Disillusioned HP Fan At this point, considering the problems I continue to have, this can not be considered a wireless capable device anymore, so I'm just going to stop the charade. The developers at HP need to get smarter and detatch the requirement that the computer "sense" the printer in order to reinstall the driver because it's an impenetrable wall you can't get past when you're having wireless connectivity issues, so there is no way to troubleshoot beyond this point! Here's the bottom line: This printer will work fine for you for the first few weeks, then it will suddenly decide it's done helping you and start hurting you by becoming an insanity-inducing, high maintenance, time-succubus. It will deign to let you get it working again very sporadically, but about 98% of the time it's going to make you really work for it. And good luck trying to reason out WHY this is happening, or what's the root cause of the issues to try and find or cobble together some kind of solution, because one day this thing is fine, and the next it won't connect to your wireless network even though nothing about the network has changed! You'll also get no help from HP, only runaround and mind-numbing frustration both virtually and in-person. It's just bad programming (period) paired with cheap manufacturing paired with really bad tech support, and I think this is a fundamental business problem; this rant is not about my personal preferences. Basically, the TWO simple things this machine is supposed to do, it won't do easily or well most of the time without some sort of connectivity issue and hours of troubleshooting, which means it's really just a very large doorstop masquerading as a printer. If I could actually troubleshoot the thing I could probably have been nicer about this, but it seems to me that HP is edging themselves out of the hardware game and morphing their company into an ink management service (which is the only thing that did work throughout this experience) by continuing to manufacture crummy equipment they can't or won't support. After all, it's 2018 and we're sending rovers to Mars, but I can't scan or print one little piece of paper? Really?

It's meeting my needs, which makes me happy
this is my umpteenth HP inkjet All in One since around the late 1990s or early 2000s, back when they were about $360 at Staples. i keep coming back to HP because i've been satisfied. i don't use it for high quality printing, i use it to print up various things all day long, for my own use or reference. I also use it to copy and fax. i rarely need to scan, and have only been using the iphone to scan for a pretty long time. I have only had this for 9 days so if it goes bad on me, i will update the review. i was in fear of replacing the previous printer, it's been reliable for 2 or 3 years, office jet 8610. i feared the HP printers are decreasing in quality, i noticed that 8610s are selling used on Amazon for $188, so it's more valuable than the newer comparable ones like this one, new the 8610 was about $110. This one was around $90. Seeing many bad reviews, i was afraid of many things. so i have been relieved that it's working as reliably as the much appreciated 8610 was working and have thought to myself several times, "I love this." So, i decided to write a review before i forget, but without the test of time. i have made a lot of printed documents and copies since i got it and the original low capacity ink cartridges are still close to full. i rarely use much color. i had bought new cartridges for this the day after i got it because both reviewers and the sales guy at Staples where i first went to buy one (wanting to get it same day, printer being much needed tool for me) warned that those cartridges last a very short time. i haven't reached the estimated number of pages printed yet. But i'm ready with new cartridges if needed. The automatic document feeder works well, better than the 8610 which was a little crooked no matter what i did. i tested the Fax , to and from, on the HP fax test number, worked fine. Hopefully it will last more than a year. For $90, i don't expect longevity but previous printers have lasted pretty good for the money. The 8610 suddenly got a "print head failed or is not installed" error. nothing i could do (i went through all the trouble shooting on the HP help site, until i got to the 'replace print head' step). i did not buy it at Staples because despite advertising them on their website as having 4 in the store i went to, the sales guy said the inventory was wrong, they didn't carry those. Desperate for a printer, i bought the next cheapest model which was $169, which despite me saying emphatically that i don't want instant ink, the guy included $20 on the bill for instant ink so that the printer came to $200 with tax, way more than what i've been paying in recent years. i took it home but never opened the box, it was a rip off. Amazon had it for $119, but better yet, Amazon had this $90 model and i ordered it, next day prime delivery and i returned the $200 thing at Staples. i asked the guy why he charged me $20 for that instant ink that i said i definitely didn't want, and he said to get that promotional deal of $169 on the printer, you had to get the $20 instant ink deal, otherwise the printer would cost more. not good business. i don't expect to be going back. Amazon = way better. As for HP customer support, it was ok, i was frustrated because i couldn't reach someone at night to solve my problem, i had a problem the first night with online registration. i entered the serial number and it said i was registered, but it gave my one year warranty period as from April 24 or something like that, to May something of 2020. I bought the printer on July 1 so how do they get starting my warranty period in April 2019? i got a text chat rep to ask about the problem, he saw it and saw i needed to call the next day or use an email address he was going to send me as we spoke. I sent my issue to the email address and never heard back. i forgot to call, many distractions going on. So, not as good tech support as in the past. Hopefully i'll remember to call them during their much more restrictive hours compared to what they used to have

EASY INSTALL
I ordered the HP OJ6968 to replace an older model of the Office Jet. HP products always seem to be relatively simple to set up. It comes with the option of setting up over the web, or using the included disc. I went with the web setup. It was simple and step by step - we were printing within about 30 minutes. I have only had the printer for about a month, and have been using it to primarily print B&W pages, so we have not experimented with the photo or colors very much. I will add that at a later time. The printer works very well on our home network, printing quickly form multiple locations in the house. We have a Netgear router and Netgear extender. The printer also uses the HPeprint, which allows for printing via email, by setting an email address for the printer. I have used this in the past with other HP products, and this option works very well. The ink sounds like it may be an issue. I did install the inks that came with the printer. I have seen from other users that this step is important - as HP sends a known quantity and uses this quantity to judge how to handle your "e-ink refill" if you sign up. I am not sure how their automatic refill would work for a small office, but I do not see the need for it in a home environment. With HP printers in the past, I have encountered issues with older ink cartridges drying up - or clogging the printing mechanism. I have not had this printer long enough to test this - but will provide a follow up at a later date. I would think in a typical house (few print jobs - kids doing papers...) there is not really a need for the auto ink refill. Typically you are able to get the cartridges online cheaper, and even do your own refills for less money. Once the included inks are empty, I will move to the XL cartridges, as I typically use. All in all - so far for this month - the printer has very good quality and descent speed - works very well as a home printer.

Definitely recommend!
Replaced a very old HP Inkjet and am going to retire an HP laser printer now. No problem setting up the printer. It arrived from Amazon in the printer carton with a UPS shipping label on it. So I guess we're saving the environment by not putting it into another box for shipping. I'm using it wirelessly. I set the printer on a desk and made the connection with my laptop from a different room. I setup the HP ePrint with an email address and was able to print a picture from my iPhone. I also emailed a document from my work computer across town. The wireless feature was one of the big attractions because whenever my son wanted to print homework, he had to previously email the doc to my home office computer to print it on my wired laserjet. The other day he simply printed the doc from his bedroom. I used the sheet feeder once and it handled the page easily. I understand that the printer is energy star efficient and I simply leave it on. It goes into a twilight mode until a print job arrives. I also ordered the 100 page instaink from HP for about $5 per month. Given the cost of ink cartridges, I thought this was a deal. The printer lets HP know when the ink cartridges are running low and they ship them to the house. Great convenience! BTW, I printed an 8x10 picture on plain bond paper and it turned out really good. Have to pick up some photo paper now.

So far so good
I just got this printer last night so I'll update my review after school starts back up in the spring and I've been using it for a couple months. I just want to point out a few things I thought were important. - I hooked this up to my Windows 10 updated Toshiba laptop with no issues - The box is lies. It's directly states USB. But you have to have one of those a male to male connector USB cords. It makes you think that you can plug your USB drive straight into it (at least it made me think that) - I downloaded the driver software directly from the website and I had no issues and I've never hooked up a printer in my life - I've already printed out a few things and I saw a review on YouTube where the paper tray has a plastic rod that automatically folds out when the paper is printing out to keep the paper from flying off the edge of the printer and that feature didn't come out for me. If anyone knows why I'd appreciate it - This thing is enormous and heavy. You need to make sure you have at least a few inches behind the printer so you're able to open up the lid - I had no trouble installing the ink cartridges. No leaking at all whatsoever - My printer showed the ink cartridges is being completely full immediately after installing. I would be outraged if they weren't all the way full right off the bat. But it even tells you that it's just an estimation and that it could be incorrect -I was able to edit email address for the printer to what I wanted it to be This thing has so many features! I am so excited to finally have a printer for college. I'm so tired of having to fight with the college computer system and dealing with the printers on campus always being broken just to print out a freaking paper, which I'm paying thousands of dollars to take classes there so I'd expect to at least be able to print out my school papers with no issues. I got tired of frequently having to walk to three different buildings to try to print one paper and being late for class by like 30 minutes. Now I'm praying that I don't have any issues with this printer. At least it only cost $70, so if I do any run into any issues with it like I've seen other people have, I can just buy a new one. Also, I've seen people commenting on the price of ink. I did weeks of research on different brands of printers and this is the average price of ink. This is actually on the low side of the brand name printers I researched. There's no way around it. Unless of course if you get a laser printer and that ink is Sky High but they last you a lot longer. Like 10x longer for only 3x the price. But I didn't need print quality photos. I got this for school. I hope I don't kick myself in the butt for not getting a quality photo printer later on. I saw this on HSN and they had pictures printed out that they said were printed out from this printer and they were amazing. That was lies too. Those pictures were not printed from this printer. I watched reviews on YouTube of people printing out pictures and they looked like crap as well just like the pictures I printed.

Out of the box
I haven't had this very long, so I will have to update my review later. It arrived on time and was packaged nicely with good protection. The printer came with ink cartridges that were very easy to install. I did not look at any written directions. I just unpackaged it, put the ink cartridges in and then followed the instructions on the screen. I did this all by myself without the help of hubby. I have a Mac and brought it in near the printer and the printer screen walked me through the setup and directed me to the website. Before I knew it, I was connected to my network and wirelessly printing. I think it took me all of 20 minutes if that. The print quality is very nice. It seems like a very sturdy printer. I have not had the chance to print a photo but will try that this weekend. I would recommend this product. It is not as small as the Envy's, but if the print quality is as good as the reviews I read before purchasing, I will be a happy customer. Update: I have printed photos on this now. I am struggling to even get a photo to print. It seems to have a mind of its own. It cancels printing in the middle of printing and then 20 minutes later decides to start printing again. The one color print I managed to get it to print on HP photo paper was not that great quality. The colors were dark. It does ok with a black and white photo if you can get it to print. I guess you get what you pay for. I am not very happy with it at the moment. It works fine for black and white text printing.
