Easy to use, Excellent quality
It was Murphy's Law -- our digital camera died two days before our big vacation. I didn't have time to do a lot of research, I just needed another camera. The local camera stores were too pricey, and the staff at the big box stores were useless when it came to helping me select a camera. These are the times when I love Amazon. I was able to sort by price, read comments, and order with 1-day delivery. Our camera arrived less than 12 hours before our flight departed and I'm thrilled to say that the camera performed beautifully, right out of the box. Loved the "easy auto" settings, as well as the ability to switch to more manual-style controls to account for sunsets, water glare, overcast skies, etc. The only bad photos out of the batch were the ones when someone stepped into the frame! We're pretty camera-savvy, so I didn't install the software. Instead, we simply pop out the memory card and use the slot on our laptop to download photos. One note: I probably missed this in my haste, but since this camera comes with internal memory, the package does not include an SD card. Luckily for us, we had a 2 GB card from our deceased camera and were able to reformat it for the Nikon. Bottom line: a great value, excellent photos, easy to carry in a jeans pocket, and lightening-fast delivery thanks to Amazon! I'd definitely recommend this camera for a no-hassle vacation memory-maker.

Nikon Coolpix L20
I waited until we took a two week vacation to the Northwest to rate this camera. We bought it for a few reasons: 1) it was reasonably priced 2) it was rated as having a fairly fast response time (important for pix of our young grandchildren) and 3) the overall ratings were good. CONS -- It tend to confuse orange with yellow (as others have said) and it tends to overexpose some shots, especially "posed" shots of folks (not so bad for me in that you have a quick one-button fix to adjust exposure level, but my wife can't handle more than one or two buttons at a time!). -- It has a lot of options for various situations (a PRO), some that work for me, some that don't (a CON). I took a few pans in hopes of using the included stitching software, but something went all wrong. I guess I should have practiced it first -- the facial recognition technology works sometimes, sometimes doesn't, not a big deal to me but a disappointment. -- a friend had an Olympus (in fairness, a lot more expensive than this) that had a much nicer LCD screen (about the same size, but more vivid/bright). Had we not compared them, though, I'm not sure I would have noticed. PROS -- it is a pretty pearly red color! -- it is indeed quick to respond -- its size is just right. We had a more expensive touch-screen camera, much smaller, that got trashed for that very reason- my wife had it in her coat pocket, it got caught in the car door and smashed. So we didn't want too small a camera this time. This fits in your pocket, but isn't small enough to forget. -- I like the AAs- buy Duracell Rechargeables, they last a LONG time -- the Auto/snapshot function works pretty well. I tried a few shots with this setting versus the more specialized function (for isntance, the Portrait setting) and generally found little difference. But some things are neat: for instance, the Food setting has a color-balance function that allows you to change the shading, which really makes it nicer. -- there is a quick macro-setting button, nice for us since we take lots of pix of flowers. In general the quality of pix was very good, given the price of the camera. There is always a learning curve with these gadgets, and I am still learning- for instance, I still can't figure the difference between the Auto and Easy Auto Modes. I highly recommend the camera.

A Convenient & efficient piece of equipment
My husband, a purblic works and construction inspector, is not electronically or photographically efficient and needs to be able to take and reproduce good visual accompaniment for his written inspection reports. He was having little success in the field with the camera he had and asked me to choose a new one for him. After reading comparisons in various publications I chose this one as seeming to be the best quality with the size he needed for convenience walking large area projects. He has had no problem operating the camera, the photos have been consistently clear and well focused (just using the default settings) and those needing to use these pictures for documentation have been highly satisfied. Amazing results for a "little" easy shot camera.

UNSATISFIED
pictures are realllyy great. in other hand: - the lack of quality on the LCD screen is too bad!! - and other unacceptable and important thing for me is the flash's charging time... it takes about 7 sec to charge and you cannot take pictures between that lap. video quality is pretty good but: - sometimes when you are recording a video and you press the stop recording button then a message appear on the LCD screen saying that your video couldn't be recorded!!! SERIOUSLY, that really sucks!!! you lost your video!!! I've read other reviews before buying this camera and still bought it because of its high number of five stars reviews.

Great starter camera but defective
Perfect starter camera for a tween or teen. Picture, video capability with nice big LCD screen, takes AA batteries and your average run of the mill SD card. Picture quality is quite nice. 4/5 stars. The one we received is defective. It freezes up when using the picture playback option and the only way to get it unstuck is to remove the batteries. Amazon accepted it for a full refund and we will be sending it back tomorrow; could not exchange due to being "unavailable" at the time I placed the call to customer service (although the exact same one WAS available in red but was at a cheaper advertised price)...they did not offer to exchange it for the red one. Nikon could have thrown in a little case for it though. Overall decent little camera.
