It arrived and was defective right out of the box.
Update #1:Amazon is sending me a replacement for the defective cable.Original Post:The cable arrived in an amazon box. Inside of the box was just the cable and no packaging. The box itself was fine so I didn't worry. The cable was defective and any controller I used was recognized as a PS3 controller (expected, honestly) with a quirk that it was recognizing a constant input of the PS Button. This makes the adapter unusable with basically any controller as it just always spams the PS menu on a PS3, floods input on PS Classic, and constant pulls up Steam Big Picture on PC. Would not recommend this cable.

Works
So my test case is a PS one dual shock controller (the grey one). plugged it in immediately and the windows controller tester recognized the input. For it to work with my intended game (Sonic Adventure 2 Battle) I ran it with a program called x360ce downloaded a single driver and mapped the buttons. No input delay. recognized all of the buttons and i was able to beat city escape with no problems. Im waiting on an Ascii grip to come in and i will test it with that will work. if anyone cares i also got it to recognize the controller on an rg351p with emulec on it. i still gotta mess around with that one but it recognizes the controller and it would take inputs in. so far though if you are just looking to connect it to windows or linux it works.*UPDATE*So i got the ascii grip in and it works great with it. if it works with that i see no reason it wouldn't work with a ps1 controller without analog sticks. Did thesame stage city escape and i didnt even need to program the inputs this time (curiously though the program i used to emulate a 360 controller made the dpad the left analog stick but thats fine i was going to have to set it to that manually). I did poorly with the controller (though thats not its fault since im using a dpad to control a 3d platformer) went to Sonic mania and tried it out where it would be more at home and worked great. highly recommend this product for using with PC for ps1 controllers

Works with PS2 Dual Shock controller
Works pretty much as you'd expect. The PC registers it as a generic USB gamepad so you have to map the controls out, but otherwise it works good. Build quality feels pretty decent. My only real complaint is that the connector is very loose when plugged into the PS2 connector. Like there is no click to confirm that it's connected it just kind of slides in. Sometimes it doesn't register the PS2 controller so you have to push the connectors together and after that they should work. I suppose you could put a piece of tape on the inside of the connector just for a tighter fit, but for me it's not a huge deal breaker.Another thing is that I don't seem to have vibration functionality on my controller, but that could be because I didn't download the drivers from the adapter. It was just plug and play for me. Again not a huge dealbreaker.I also don't think this supports pressure sensitivity on the PS2 controllers, but again I cannot confirm that. It seems like pressure sensitivity in general isn't really supported on PC anyway. I've only heard a handful of cases, but that's where people use the PS3 controller and some other software through Pcsx2 so it's not the adapters fault.Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. It does exactly as it says and lets you use your PS2/PS1 controllers on PC.

Just opened the package..
Well it got to my house on time, BUT, before ive even plugged it in I have a problem, the link to download the software is broken, or the file is missing, as you can see in the two photos I posted, which I translated to English if anyone didst know how to read Japanese, or Chinese, or whatever language that is. I will find working software, and post a link in these comment after I spend probably an hour looking, I hope its only an hour, man, when I buy something that requires a download, I kind if expect the seller to have me a nice fresh workable link ready to rock and roll.... I would rather be playing Dirt 4, than searching for drivers.(EDIT - I spoke to fast, im in Window 10, this thing is just plug and play. BUT, now I need the adapter for the foot pedals....I didnt think about that.)

Loose connection.
I'm hoping I just got a bad one, but the connection to the controller fits loosely and the controller intermittently stops working until you jiggle it around a bit. Tried it with multiple ps1 and ps2 official controllers. I do like that it was plug and play, worked with windows 10 and modded playstation classic. I will update my review after I try a replacement.

works on Mac for Clone Hero!!
Bought this to be able to use my PS2 Guitar Hero controllers with Clone Hero on my 2014 MacBook Pro, currently on OS Catalina. Works flawlessly! On Mac, you don't need to download the drivers at all, just plug it into the USB port and you're good to go! You might need to calibrate the controls in Clone Hero so it recognizes your keypresses, which I did. To do this, open Clone Hero, hit spacebar to open control settings, click the boxes in the rightmost "Controller" column and follow the on-screen instructions to assign the buttons. I also recommend looking up "clone hero settings gatordude" on Youtube to refine your settings to run the game better. Can't speak for the longevity of the adapter but so far it did exactly what I needed it to do!

Didn’t work
Was using this to plug an old, PS1 dance mat into a backwards compatible PS3. The programming doesn’t work, so the mats didn’t register all the buttons properly and can’t be used to play the game. Contacted the seller about the issue and they simply directed me to a forum with a lot of technical information about installing patches for computers but I am trying to make it work on a PS3, not a computer. Directing me to a forum was not much “service” in the “customer service” arena if you ask me. So now am stuck with a dance pad and an adapter that I can’t use for anything.
