Q: Can you take off the backpack straps and use it like a suitcase kind of bag?

You cannot remove them but there is a compartment you can tuck them into and use it like a suitcase kind of bag.

Q: What the heck are the interior flaps for?!

They fold out to make the interior larger (like a mini duffle, but sorta goofy) or stay in to make a quick access pocket. They can also be fixed out of the way with the internal snaps where they connect, or be used just as contents dividers. Kinda weird, but pretty nifty.

Q: Will this bag be pliable and quiet in the cold temps, for use in a hunting blind?

Pliable Unfortunately I dont believe so, mine is stiff as a board being that its waxed fairly heavily. As far as quiet maybe...? You may b3 better served looking for a suede/leather and mink oil it for water tightness or maybe pvc bag(faux leather) that being said I still really like this bag its fairly well constructed
