Fantastic present for young children
These 4M robots went over well with the kids, I gave this one to the youngest of the nephews and he was a little perturbed because his older brother got the awesome robot - so if I had a redo - I probably would have gotten both of the the Salt Water Powered Robot kit - but he did like this - even though it didn't have the WOW factor of the little actual robot.Easy to put together for the 6 year old (with parent assistance) - it worked just as advertised. Great price, great present.

excellent introduction to robots
2 of my 4 kids really enjoyed being a part of the building process. My 6-yr old son wandered off near the beginning, but my 4-yr old and 8-yr old were spellbound. It took less than 30 minutes to put it together. Then we spent 30 minutes watching it spin in circles on the floor. It doesn't have an extremely sturdy build and it is definitely not 11 pounds of shipping. It's a fun little toy, albeit kind of expensive. We like the one we have, but won't be getting another. The emphasis in the description on recycling is a little over the top...

Fun! Can be frustratingly fussy
My child enjoyed building this, and the sale price was great. Some of the build is pretty fine, and tough on kids without great fine motor skills. It is also hard to keep it standing , it needs a fourth leg. Still, a good project for seeing how switches and currents work!

Assembly was not easy for a child
It's a battery operated motor that vibrates the legs so vigorously that it makes the robot glide across a hard surface. Assembly was not easy for a child. Underwhelming but still a fun toy.

Fun bug
We just put this together last weekend. My son loves it. I think he was a little young (4.5 yrs) so I did most of the actual putting together but he helped by giving me the right pieces and "reading" the instructions. Once it was put together, he played with it and brought it to school to show his friends. I would buy more and look forward to him getting older and being able to do more of it himself. For now though, it is a great project for us to do together.
