This book is an easy read with so many applicable steps. I am 21 and would recommend it to any young reader who is involved in the church. Leibscher is so good at communicating a lasting biblical perspective.

Such a good foundational short read that helps bring the reader back to the priority of life as a Christian and our lifelong relationship with God. I need a physical copy now so I can highlight and write on it. Definitely will read again. Love how Banning formatted each section of the book, all the scripture references and life experiences, as well as the parallels of King David’s life. Such an encouraging read I think all Christian’s can benefit from reading!

Love how the author is vulnerable and shares his life struggled and failures in life and ministry. It makes him so relatable. He writes in such a way that all readers can understand. He explains how to apply the knowledge you are learning, but no so specifically that you would copy his journey, but instead find your own way to journey. Beautiful and life giving book!

Great leadership book from Christian perspective

What a fantastic book. I don't always write a review, but when I do it is special. First, before I tell you about the book, I want to talk about the man. With fill discloser, Banning is a friend. He is someone that I have known for six years, and I have called him on several occasions to get his counsel. Banning is warm, friendly and full of wisdom. This book will share with you some of the insights that he has discovered to making a healthy Christian and church.There are so many books today that it is hard to sift through them all and find one that will help everyone to some degree. I believe this is a book that everyone should read and read again. Everyone needs to be grounded and rooted, but most Christians seem to think that they have no part in this process. Being uprooted will lead to both frustration and disappointment somewhere in their walk with the Lord.Banning lays out the kingdom pattern for us to submit to so that we all can grow as a believer. Many Christians are going to find that they are struggling with one of the soils in their lives. Don't panic. Banning will lovingly and wisely expose our discomfort and our need to become better rooted in the Word, Labor and Community of the Church. No one wants to resist their growth, but anyone who has lead a congregation knows, people do. This book is a must, and I have recommended it to my whole congregation.Better than that, I recommend Banning to you as well. I have seen through the years him grow and take on leadership with the grace of God. I have many times sought him out, and he has always been able to draw from his experiences or those from his community of believers. His friendship and counsel have been like honey in a perfect moment. I am glad to call him friend.

I can't put in words how good this book is. Everything is really well explained, and makes you see if you're rooted or not and what are the essential elements to be grounded on Jesus.

Dieses Buch hat mich begeistert, ich lese es immer wieder, weil so gute, tiefe Wahrheiten drinstecken, die einen einfach freisetzen! Früher hat mich das Thema "Berufung, Vision" immer total gestresst, ich habe mich häufig mit anderen verglichen und mich immer irgendwie "nicht weit genug mit Gott" gefühlt. Die Wahrheiten in diesem Buch (dass es auf unser Herzensfundament, unsere Intimität mit Gott, unser Vertrauen zu ihm, unsere dienende Haltung ankommt) haben mir diesen Stress genommen. Nun bin ich jeden Tag enthusiastisch, weil ich weiß, dieser Tag zählt für Gott, jetzt und hier kann ich lernen, ihm immer mehr zu vertrauen und er wird mich zu seiner Zeit in meine Berufung führen. Das Wichtigste aber ist Jesus, nicht meine Berufung.Einfach nur genial geschrieben! Gut strukturiert, anschaulich, tiefgründig. Ein Buch, das man immer wieder lesen (und dann auch leben) wird!

Would definitely recommend anyone to buy it. It's worth the investment. Taught me so much.

This is such an incredible book. I felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit and the grace to change as I read through the pages. From cover to cover, that call to go deeper in God is right there.Banning does it in such an insightful way that makes me cherish the here and now season God has me, knowing that my purpose and destiny are in His hands.I can't recommend this book highly enough
