Good quality radio.
The radio is great picks up stations easily and volume is good as I used it at Silverstone for Formula 1 so very noisy. I did swop the headphones that come with as the original were not comfy in my ears. But would still recommend this tiny, lightweight radio.

FM great with a good signal. AM is set for USA tuning and doesn't work properly here
I like that this is battery powered, and not another device which needs charging on a cable. If you have a strong signal stereo FM sounds excellent. For Radio 3 I much prefer this to DAB or the BBC's aac streams. It's a bit flaky when the signal varies like in town surrounded by tall buildings but the mono mode is helpful if you're on the move. The output is louder than smartphones so it's great for small headphones, ear pad headphones like Koss, old fashioned earbuds, as well as more modern in ear monitors.AM reception is a real problem. I didn't know this before buying this radio and looking at others but the USA, Canada, Mexico and South Korea use a different AM tuning system to the rest of the world. It means you can never *quite* perfectly tune a US AM radio here. With analogue tuning it doesn't matter but this Retekess, despite using a tuning wheel, is using a digital tuning scale. Some radios with digital tuning allow you to toggle between US & Rest of World but unfortunately this Retekess has its AM band fixed to to the US system. BBC R5 is just about listenable but not great. We live and learn! The only other drawback is that the tuning scale is very compressed so tuning with the wheel is very fiddly. When I've used this radio on FM and in areas with a strong signal/direct line of sight to the antenna the sound quality on good headphones and In Ear Monitors has really surprised me. It's excellent. The bass boost is utterly superfluous.Overall I'm pleased with it but I might buy another Retekess with digital tuning and the ability to set AM to proper tuning increments.

A basic radio but very good
A very basic AM / FM radio. A little bigger than a lighter, fits in the palm of the hand. Two AAA batteries, very easy to use. The headphones act as the aerial as well, so occasionally there is a little hiss as the signal is lost momentarily due to you moving around, but nothing that takes away from the listening experience. Great to throw in a bag or pocket to be able to listen to the news or the radio when out and about.Only negative, and it is a little one, is that it is possible to knock it off tune in your pocket - some kind of lock on the buttons would have been good, but that would take it away from being a simple radio. On the whole value for money, well made item that is easy to use and works well.

Does the job
Bought this for my elderly uncle who is in hospital, seems easy enough for him to use and he said there is good sound from it.

Mini portable radio
Bought these to listen to the cricket on the move. Although the reception and sound quality is very good , this little wonder eats through batteries at a rapid rate. You’ll be lucky to get 2 days out of this!
