Hard to put together but worth it!
My 3.5yo son is absolutely obsessed with everything thunderbirds. We had already bought the other figurines and when this came up on warehouse deals I just couldn't resist.I must admit that putting this playset together was a royal pain in the butt. While the instructions are fairly clear, the pieces don't exactly fit together without (to me) a pretty significant application of force. The "rock" portions especially are challenging because the tabs holding them together are a very tight fit and getting a good angle to force the pieces together in the correct places was quite challenging for several of the pieces. Additionally, there are 30+ stickers that need to be adhered to various parts of the structure. All in all, the playset probably took about 90 min to put together. When it's up and running, it makes a significant amount of noise - lights flashing, ratcheting of the launch-pads, and of course various dialogue from the shows. The launchpad for Thunderbird two is surrounded by trees that are attached by small plastic pieces to the underside of the pad. Ours kept falling off but a tiny dab of superglue on the inside of the trees prior to replacing them on the pieces solved this issue with minimal hassle.Despite the loudness and difficulties with putting this together, this playset is by far the most favorite toy that my son has ever had. Typically, he'll be interested in something for 1-3 days then get bored with it. Not this! The more he plays with it the more excited he gets about playing with it. He has all of the various launch sequences down now and comes up with all sorts of scenarios around the launches. This playset would keep him entertained for hours if we left him to his own devices. The overall build is pretty good for the price and we have had no signs of malfunction or wear-out despite some pretty hard play. The only issue we have encountered is that my son tried one time to carry this around by holding onto the buildings rather than carrying it from the bottom. This led to the top part of the rock face coming off. Luckily, it was pretty easy to put back together and he's been quite good about carrying it from the bottom since that incident.I will continue to update this review over the next few months regarding the longevity of this playset. For now, I would say that if your kid likes Thunderbirds anywhere near as much as my son, this is well worth purchasing.

Detailed, and an excellent role-playing toy to supplement the new (amazing) show.
Faithful reproduction of Tracy Island from the show, with a lot of bells and whistles. It is, however, somewhat tough to assemble. In order to make the product a bit safer perhaps, the mountain itself is made of a very thick rubbery plastic. As such, it can be hard to mate all the pieces effectively.Three other important things to note: The battery compartment is near-impossible to locate without the box. It is located in "Brain's Lab" and is well hidden; there are no screws or anything that would give it away, so if you throw away the box before finding yje hidden power source, now you know :).The trees lining the TB2 launch ramp are press-fit. Supergluing them in place might save you a lot of headache having to set them back up after the kids take them off.Lastly, without the Thunderbird vehicle set, this isn't much of a toy, so order it at the same time. In general, the TB toys suffer one issue, and that is an issue of scale; if this playset were to scale of the TB 5" figures, The island would be about 20 feet tall and take up the whole yard, and the vehicles would be about 4 feet each or more. Hence, there is a lot of "scale hopping" during play, and I am not really sure it could be avoided. This isn't the first toy to suffer from this (think the old Star Wars Death Star playset from the 80s) but it is one of the few toy lines where it's a problem across all the elements of the show. You can play with the vehicles, but then not the figures, or the other way around, but they can't really occupy the same space.ABOUT THE SHOW IN GENERAL:TBirds is a special show, as it is action filled, without focusing at all on fighting (there are occasional fights, but minimal). Most of the action revolves around the Tracys using their talents to save people, and I think that nowadays that is an underserved theme in kids TV.

AMAZING and this thing is HUGE! Just like those EPIC playsets of yesteryear but BETTER!
AMAZING and this thing is HUGE! For the price Amazon was offering for this OUTSTANDING playset combined with the free shipping I thought this was a typo. This truly is reminiscent of those large playsets of yesteryear but with modern lights and sounds. It literally does everything you see Tracy Island do in the show and it looks spot on! Kids will like this because... well how could they not this thing it's FAB! Collectors will like this for the amazing details and features. It looks like it was made by fans for fans. BRAVO Amazon for bringing the show to Prime members and BRAVO for offering this phenomenal playset for us at an UNBEATABLE price and super FAST shipping! WOW! I can't wait to see what else is to come!

6 Stars - Toddler APPROVED!
My almost 3YO continuously is launching the rockets and saying "Thunderbird 1 is Go" and "Thunderbird 3 is Go," "Wow!". That says it all. Only problem is I (Daddy) has to keep helping to reset the launch pads! Only gripe is the palm trees constantly fall off the Thunderbird 2 launch ramp (just glue them on, you'll thank me later). So far the product is very durable and well made (I'm sure we've already had well over 300 launches since Christmas (that was only 3 weeks ago). As others have noted 4 AA batteries go behind bottom panels on the control panel in the lab (looking at the island from the back the lab is bottom left side).. interesting that the how/where to install the battery instructions are on the outside of the box, but not in the construction instructions (just in case you threw the box away)! The island does NOT come with the rockets, but you can buy Thunderbirds 1,2.3.4 together as a set for around $20-25 and they are designed to fit the launch pads PERFECTLY, and the vehciles also make their own sounds. It will take you an hour to put together (parts and lots of decals), but well worth it.

This is a huge playset!
I bought Tracy Island more for a display in my Gerry Anderson collection and it's a really nice addition. The set is quite large once built though, so you have to make sure you have the room for it. It does take some time to build it up and the sticker for the round house is hard to apply, as it's quite large and long and prone to tear, but aside from that, it's great. Really glad I got it for my collection!

Really fun!
Excellent play set. Make sure you have all of the ships though, otherwise the kids fight. Super value as well. Oddly was much more expensive on Canada Amazon than US Amazon. Same product, made in China too.
