We do a lot of firepits as we live on a wooded lot. I came across this item when looking for something to make our firepits a little more entertaining. It works and looks awesome! It arrived on time, with no damages. The skull is a little smaller than the average adult skull, but it's still big and heavy. The detail and welding are excellent. Once in the fire, it heats up and on some occasions has shown different colors (I guess depending on how hot it gets). We have seen red, golden brown, and even blue. We love this thing. It looks so cool on the top of the burning wood, our neighbors and friends love it too making lots of comments. Highly recommended.

These are metal. Very durable. Look cool. Just a lot smaller than I was expecting.

At first. . . So here's the thing. I got these because A. I like skulls. I wear them in clothing, I have one on an end table, I drink from one with a handle as a cup, B. I like fires. Not related to the skulls (previously at least), I just really enjoy camping and such, and C. I wanted to make the neighbour kids question reality a moment. And for this product. . .success on all three. Cool.They are definitely skulls. They are metal, with a minor bit of heft, but I like that. They are hollow in all the right places, and look genuinely good. They definitely were good in the fireplace (or fires in general). They almost helped make the flames go higher from the looks of it, and it was delightful watching fire dance behind the empty spaces in the eyes or pop out the top of the cracks in their heads. And C. . .yeah, the neighbour kids don't really feel like arguing after seeing flaming skulls in the fireplace while I chuckle ominously. So all around win. Excellent product. Highly recommend.

In fall I added the Human Skull Gas Log to my fireplace, and let me tell you, it’s been a scream! These skulls are the life (or should I say, afterlife?) of the party.If you’re looking to add a touch of macabre to your fireplace, these are a must-have.

Updated 8/22/23:I just added the split picture. I left these outside for a full Michigan winter and, predictably, they rusted (top) . In May I cleaned them w/Brillo to remove the rust then seasoned them in the oven for 2 cycles (google cast iron pan seasoning). I'm happy to say they've been outside, exposed to fire, rain, and sun for over two months---ZERO rust. Obviously, this finish won't survive direct fire but for my application (covering Tiki torches) they are awesome! Looks like King Kong Skull island! Being cast iron, these will last a decade...they will rust a bit and weather and they will look great when they do. No other material will withstand constant use in direct contact with fire. They're made of the same stuff that fireplace grills/andirons are made from. At the moment I'm using them for Tiki torches and they look awesome! If you need some accoutrement for a foo foo artifical gas fireplace, buy ceramic. These are just a teeny tiny bit smaller than the average, dismembered human skull but it's scarcely noticeable. It's cast in three separate parts, welded and ground. Folks! It's cast iron! It will survive FIRE 🔥! Your friends will think you're awesome! Buy!!! Now!!! FIIIIIIRRRREEEEE!!!!!!

They look awesome but they started rusting after the first night and it didn't even rain. I'm going to have to clean them up and try to paint them with ceramic coating or something like that.
