Does not work with Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (cannot use an external monitor or USB port and charge at same time)
This adapter fails to charge a 2015 MacBook 12" when using Apple's USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter and an external monitor. And it's not that it fails to not charge fast enough to keep up with the power drain (but at least provide power to slow the battery drani , as can happen using a lower-amp USB battery pack to charge your laptop), but it actually doesn't register as plugged in *at all*.September 1, 2016 update: Hisgadget customer service was very responsive to the above review (and initial 1-star rating). They sent not one free replacement but a second additional free one after the first replacement also failed to work with the Multiport adapter. However after all 3 products failed to work properly with the Apple Adapter (I tested on a 2nd 2015 MacBook 12", and with 4 different USB-C power cords), they sent the following update:"We just checked with our product consultant and the manufacturer, we finally figure out the problem. The problem is not on the charger or the charging cables. Actually the Apple Digital Multiport Adapter does not support any charger to delivery the power to macbook through it. You could use our charger to charge Macbook directly withour any problem. Or if you change the apple digital Multiport Adapter to another brand, you still could use the multiport adapter to connect the monitor. The problem is on the Apple multiport adapter not the charger itself, for apple excludes other chargers."That's not exactly correct; the Apple Digital Multiport Adapter works fine with Apple's $50 29W USB-C OEM adapter, which I've used without issue since May 2015 when I got the Macbook and adapter. However I am willing to believe that Apple has some proprietary hardware identifying its charger as an Apple charger (certainly much more information is shown in About This Mac->System Report->Hardware->Power with the Apple adapter than with the iClever), and that the Macbook firmware cuts power delivery with the digital multiport adapter if it detects anything but an Apple adapter powering it.So I'm raising this to 3 stars; the product still doesn't work with the Apple Digital Multiport Adapter, in comparison to the 29W Apple OEM Charger which does, but it is almost half the price so I'm hoping iClever makes the tradeoff you're buying clearer in product description and Q&A.

Definitely not the 30W charger they claim it is!
There is no way this is a 30W adapter. Let me explain how I can be so sure saying this. Apple has approved the use of the 29W Macbookcharger for use on the iPad Pro 12.9 inch model, which I own. It works with Apple's USB-C to Lightning cable (and only Apple's cable - but that is another review). I bought the Apple brand 29W USB-C charger and lightning cable, and have been using them for about 8 months. It is the only thing that makes the iPad Pro useable if you use it for any length of time.with the 12W factory charger, you spend more time charging than using. With the genuine Apple 29W adapter, I can run my iPad Pro down to zero power, plug it in, and it will charge enough to come on almost immediately. I can resume working on the iPad, and it will not only keep up with the charging, it actually gets ahead of me while I am using the iPad simultaneously. It provides enough power to allow me to work, and gain battery charge. After about 1.5 hours of charging and constant use, the iPad will reach 100% charge!. This is the only iPad/charger combo I have ever been able to do that with, and it makes it a lot easier to use the iPad Pro full time. Now, I wanted a spare charger, and the Apple 29W model was out of stock. This model was listed as an alternative with USB-C and 30W (supposedly). The first time I tried it, I could tell something was wrong. It absolutely will not keep up with me using the iPad and charging simultaneously. Even if it could just hold me at my current charge level while using the iPad, I would have been OK. But it can not even pull that off. If I try to charge while using the iPad at the same time, I will start to lose charge percentage, and gradually run out the battery, even while plugged in to the charger. This is something that is simply not possible with the genuine Apple 29W charger.this thing is putting out significantly less than the claimed 30watts, and will not work as well as the genuine Apple 29W charger. I really wanted it to, because it costs a lot less. My non-use charging time with the Apple charger was about 1 hour. With this one, it is nearly 2 hours. That makes a huge difference, and the iPad Pro does not use as much power as the MacBook this is also intended for. Poor spec claims by the manufacturer. Good price, but a waste of money if what you really need is the charger speed and power.

Great cheaper alternative to the apple branded charger
I purchased this charger for my 2015 macbook as a travel/second charger to the stock apple charger.Pros:- charges as fast or perhaps slightly faster than the stock charger. I tested both a few times and there appeared to be a slight advantage to the iClever charger.- costs less than the apple brand (neither have a cable provided, which I consider a plus as I can pick my own cable and the charger costs less because they don't have to cover the cost of an included cable)- similar if not the same materials used for the outside- solid feeling weight to it (not too heavy not too light) very similar to the apple branded charger- it gets as warm as the apple branded charger (barely warm and absolutely nothing to worry about)Cons:- None from my point of viewNeutrals:- the charging light. For me it's a pro because I know that it is charging when the light is on. It is not a strong bright light either so it is not too bright at night (I tested this and it was not an issue) Some will not like this though and that is why I have marked it as a neutral point.Summary:- in my view this is recommended as it 1) costs less than the apple branded charger and 2) chargers slightly faster than the apple branded charger.I would buy again knowing what I know todaygood work iClever
