Awesome pens for the price. The writing quality is excellent. The pen writes very smooth and has a good dark coloring to the ink. I haven't had too much of an issue with smudging. On a paper like surface it writes amazing and dries fast, but if you try to use them on a more shiny surface like on some cards, definitely let the ink dry a bit before you touch it.

These are great quality. I was even a bit surprised at how well they wrote. Will definitely buy again.

These are pretty darned inexpensive so I am willing to put up with a couple of things. First is they are kind of gloppy but for the price I am willing to have a pen-wipe handy. All ink nowadays seems to be the (water-based?) gloppy "gel" kind rather than what I think was an oil-based kind that behaved a little better. Second, the barrel is padded out with a tube of rubbery material for the grip. This makes the barrel just too thick for my preference. (I sure miss those slim older model ones with the cap and ink that doesn't glop.) I took an Xacto knife to the rubber grip, slicing it lengthwise and removing it entirely. That made it slimmer but I then needed to carve down the sharpness of the molded plastic rim that served to stop the rubber grip from slipping down. Success! Now it feels about right!

They write very nicely, but many of the ones in the pack stopped working properly. The clicker stopped pushing the pen out or you couldn't get it to go back in. Pieces also separates pretty easily when you don't want them to.

Can't go wrong with these pens, great writing experience. Smooth, nice, perfect.

I bought 2 of the most bought black ballpoint pens on amazon - this one and the Pentel RSVP. The Papermate is a little fatter and stocky so it doesn't hold as well BUT the ink comes out soo much better - dark, solid, and silky smooth. Whereas the RSVP is like a scratch in comparison. So the Papermate is much better in comparison.
