Q: Is it real from Trangia or other brands?

This is real Trangia. You can always guarantee it to be authentic Trangia if you purchase from the seller Trangia. But we do have other authorized dealers on Amazon selling authentic Trangia products.

Q: Does the handle keep the kit securely closed, or is there enough friction to do so?

The lid fits fairly tight and can be a bit of a pain to put on. I wouldn't say the handle holds the lid on but I doubt the lid will fall off.

Q: is the height also 2.8 inch without the lid? wondering if it is deep enough to boil water and cook ramen.

It's deep enough to cook ramen in; that is pretty much the reason I bought this. Without the lid, it's about 53 mm deep. With 500 ml of water and noodles it's a little under half full.

Q: Does this come with the steaming rack?

No. The bottom with the handle would be the pot/pan and the lid would be a plate/shallow bowl
