Missing: Two Eyeballs
A small paperback book to celebrate 50 years of Beetle Bailey? This just doesn't seem right. Beetle Bailey, is one of the most popular comic strips in history and this is all we get? This 128 page volume begins on the campus at Rockview U where Beetle is serving time as a college student in September 1950. A hat on the top of his head covers eyes that you will never see. In March of 1951 Beetle enlists in the United States Army and very quickly our hero is well-established as a no-good goldbrick that lives to foil the Sarge on a daily basis in thousands of newspapers worldwide. The cast grows and grows and Beetle moves from decade to decade as the private that defends America from all foes foreign and domestic. This is fine for what it is but I would have loved to have seen a more deluxe version of the adventures of Private Beetle Bailey.Be careful and don't pay the vendors tons of cash for this as it only cost $9.95 when it was first published back in 2000.If you can find this book at a reasonable price go ahead and purchase this. But, don't spend all the rent money to obtain this volume.Four Stars!

I'M STILL LAUGHING!
This delightful collection of Beetle Bailey strips had me laughing so hard it HURT! Mort Walker is truly a genius! The indolent soldier, the irate sarge and cast of assorted, equally funny characters are truly a treat. This collection is truly a treat. You will learn from Private Beetle Bailey the fine art of work dodging, sarge baiting and finding laughs in the most unlikely places. A keeper!
